Let's say that an Adult profile has comedy in it, perhaps it's a spoof of a mainstream film, can the Comedy genre be attached?

Or if an Adult profile has a Military/War theme, can War be included as a Genre?

Or if an Adult profile has a Sports theme, can the Sports genre be attached?

Or other Genres?

I've never used this "Accessories" genre I see in DVD Profiler.  I would image that might apply to quite a few adult films.

A small image on the back cover that revealed a woman's bare breast was enough to reject a contribution unless it was classified as Adult. Given that, I would say that it is vital that we can assign other genres as well.

Caligula is a drama with adult (pornographic) scenes, Salon Kitty is a drama/war film with adult scenes and something like Frivolous Lola is a romantic comedy, also with an adult classification.

Some Adult movies are even documentaries, such as In the Flesh, a documentary about strippers (interviews intercut with stripping). No sex happens, but it has an Adult listing as most Seduction Cinema output does. Part of the problem is that Adult is such a subjective term. While some Something Weird output would indeed count as Adult in my mind, the 1950s/1960s nudie ones where no sex occurs aren't Adult in my mind but generally are by DVD Profiler standards.

I think the difficulty with determining what is considered "Adult" for Profile lies in the fact that the company is American but has an international audience. Americans are, in general, prudes. I could bore you with historical evidence, but for whatever reason, nudity is a big no-no even without sex. Though women are more allowed to show full nudity then men are but that's another conversation.

I think Profiler errs on the side of caution to have profiles marked as Adult to avoid any issues that would arise from someone getting upset at seeing nudity even if for the majority of the world, it's not a big deal. I can't really blame Ken for it, as a small company would totally be bankrupted if sued.

Without overgeneralizing even if it's not a majority, it's certainly a vocale group and I agree it's wise to air on the side of caution. Whenever I post photos on Flickr of statues with nudity (even though such statues are outside and thus visible by the publi)c, I always adjust the Safe Search to Moderate to avoid any complaints. it's interesting to see the cultural differences. I live in western Canada, and we tend to be a bit more liberal than Americans, but not as liberal as Quebec; some movies I've bought in Quebec have been G-rated in the Quebec system despite having nudity.

Regardless, though it definitely further points to Adult movies having other genres. Heck, even if a movie is an hardcore parody of a superhero movie, I don't see any issue with Comedy and Fantasy being secondary genres.

I agree. I don't see why there can't be other genres if Adult is listed.
