| Posted: | | | | Ok I know this might sound confusing but I really need to be able to scan the UPCs but do all the adding on the laptop. I have tested several apps and one let you scan with phone and it immediately popped up in the app on the computer screen. I need this. I can’t download the phone app to try it unless I pay for it. Is there a way to have this work the same? If I just scan and make a file to upload then I will have to handle the dvds multiple times ... he has over approx 5000 titles from last count ... this needs to go quickly but accurately.
Thanks! |

It's not instant, but you could scan a few profiles, then initiate a synchronization to get those newly added profiles into the computer. Synchronization is reasonably fast, as it will detect changes quickly and only transfer differences between the two locations. | | | Achim [諾亞信; Ya-Shin//Nuo], a German in Taiwan. | Posted: | | | | Well, My concern is ...and it may not even be relevant... with past apps when you scan a upc, they show you the cover and you can add it or in some cases they show you multiple options. I have a large screen phone, but processing thousands of DVDs is going to be impossible if I have to make choices or do searches because the upc doesn't come up ... on my phone. My eyes can't handle the strain. I paid for the iPhone app, but it doesn't find the computer app. I did everything according to the instructions but it still comes back that it can't find it. It shouldn't be this hard |

As for the app not finding the PC program: This is not automatic. Both computers must be on the same network. The PC’s IP address is shown at the bottom of the screen of DVD Profiler and you need to type that into the address field in the phone up (select Edit in the “Connect to DVD Profiler” section) of the Update Database dialog. It might help to forward the port to your PC, but most importantly they both must be on the same network. | | | Achim [諾亞信; Ya-Shin//Nuo], a German in Taiwan.
