| Posted: | | | | Strange on this. Since Invelos has been around, I've noticed the absence of the Invelos icon from my bookmarks. It appears in my address bar and on the page tab, but not in my bookmarks as images for other pages do. It seems the same for different browsers, platforms, etc. that I've used. Looking at the page sourcecode, the necessary information is in the header (i.e. <link rel="SHORTCUT ICON" href="http://www.invelos.com/SiteIcon.ico" /> ), it just doesn't seem to store for me (see below). Can anyone confirm that this is the case for them as well? If so, I'll drop it into a feature request. Stuart | | | This is a sig... ... ... yay...

| Posted: | | | | I've got no problems with the icon in my favourites - although I use IE7. Maybe it's a time-out issue? Maybe the invelos server is taking longer to reply back with the icon when requested and the browser is giving up? I'm guessing the favourites icon is requested when you first open the browser, but the icon for the address bar and tab is requested when you're on the page which is why those two show up. | | | Last edited: by northbloke |

I too have only this generic page-icon if I bookmark a Invelos page in FF. Works as it should under Opera. cya, Mithi | | | Mithi's little XSLT tinkering - the power of XML --- DVD-Profiler Mini-Wiki |

Skip It' just a little change. Cosmetically more attractive and makes picking it out of my bookmark lists easier. If a fix only takes two minutes, then it's a probably two minutes well spent (especially if someone can say off the top of their head exactly what the issue is). Anyway, it works for IVS both now and in the past (take another look at the screenshot). Stuart | | | This is a sig... ... ... yay...

I don't think so. The icons are saved as part of the bookmark file (in full code rather than as an image) and hence can be seen even when offline. It also checks each time you load the page. The timeout would have to be happening as a matter of routine, which just seems a little implausible to me. Stuart | | | This is a sig... ... ... yay...

cya, Mithi I'm not sure what you mean by "quasi-standard favicon.ico". I know that it's not limited to the traditional favicon restrictions of size and format (not that I think any browser restricts to these standards these days) because the HouseOfAnime icon is an animated gif and works as I might have expected. Given that a couple of others have indicated that there is a problem, I wondered if there was a suggesting bug report attached to Firefox. I found this bug, which was suggesting a possible problem in Firefox. I downloaded the Invelos icon to get a look at it and noticed that it was the same icon released with version prior to 3.1 (7 images) Version 3.1 I believe included a more complete icon (8 images) to resolve a minor issue that could affect the icon image on the desktop. I don't know the whys and wherefores, but it may be that this problem could be 'fixed' by simply uploading the updated icon onto the website (a two minute job at most). Does this theory make any sense to anyone who knows about icons? Stuart | | | This is a sig... ... ... yay...

| Posted: | | | | I - using FF 2.0.0.3 on Mac OS X 10.4 - see in all places (address bar, bookmarks, tab) the round disc icon.
Remark: Once FF has assigned an icon, it does not change it anymore.
Maybe you copy the bookmark URL, drop the bookmark, reload the page and re-add the bookmark | | | Karsten DVD Collectors Online

Maybe you copy the bookmark URL, drop the bookmark, reload the page and re-add the bookmark No luck I'm afraid. But it is interesting that you have a version of Firefox tat works. Stuart | | | This is a sig... ... ... yay...

| Posted: | | | | I'm using the latest release version of Firefox, and most of my bookmarks and quick access bar addresses have a icon on them. Profiler is the gold disc that several have highlighted. Never had a problem with any version of Firefox doing this since at least 1.5. | | | John

| Posted: | | | | I've done a little bit of experimentation with icons from th site and from the 3.1 executable with unhelpful results (neither of them would bookmark!).
I've got no idea what's causing it, but I'll ask Ken to update the icon anyway on the off chance that it may have an impact.
Thanks all
