| Posted: | | | | Hi, i would like to add separate disc profiles for the german Akte X/The X-Files-Bluray boxes. But the contributor of the box profiles use the disc id of the first disc in each box for the box profile, e.g. for season 1: http://www.invelos.com/Forums.aspx?task=viewtopic&topicID=820464&PageNum=LASTNow it is not possible to create the profile for disc 1 with the locality Deutschland/Germany. This ist the problem for all nine seasons. Anyone with an idea to solve this problem? Regards MacLeod |

| Posted: | | | | Right... per rules the only time seasons get a profile is when it has it's own UPC printed on the package. Disc IDs are to be used only for discs. | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | Ufff... I find the Box with one profile for each season enough. We have now the box and attached 9 profiles for each of the 9 seasons with Disc-ID as no EAN is present. Each season has about 7 discs. So this would be over 60 profiles if done per disc. This is two much and really brings nothing than a lot of work. I would lock my profile and never accept in my collection such a mess. One profile per season is more than enough and good to work with.

| Posted: | | | | Quoting DJ Doena: Quote: You could also use the new alternate ID feature. No... per the rules change you can NOT use alternates for this purpose. You can only have season level for complete series sets if they include separate season boxes with their own UPC/EAN. Ken decided to go even stricter with this then any of us asked for. | | | Pete |

Fritz I completely disagree.... for tracking purposes I definitely one a profile for every disc in the set. | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | @Addicted2DVD: You mean, there one profile for the complete box and profiles for the separate discs but no profiles for the season boxes?
I think the alternate id feature is a good idea. Each season box has a id on the backside from the cover (right bottom corner, season 9 e.g. # 3093499 SL9. This id could be used for the season boxes/cases. |

| Posted: | | | | That is exactly what I mean.... unless the season boxes has their own UPC/EAN, I(any other type of number don't matter). Ken Cole (creator of the program) went much stricter on this then anyone wanted. Rules Quote: Quote: In cases where multiple complete TV seasons/series (each with distinct UPC/EAN) are packaged together, the Box-set rules are applied, treating each season/series like a single film - applying the above rules for its individual profile. See what I put in bold. The only way season profiles can be made is if there is a separate package for each season within the complete series package.... and each of those packages has it's own UPC/EAN. | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | Honestly I do not understand why so many are voting "No" on these submissions, as Duncan submitted them are the only correct solutions.
I need my separate disc profiles and the No-voters are blocking these updates because you just don't like it (see SwissFilms comment), but this is not the way it should be handled. See Addicted2DVDs comments on the rules, and therefore it should and needs to be approved. If these updates are rejected the whole contribution approval system is a joke when the rules are not applied.
Just my 2 cents. |

Just my 2 cents. They only care how it works in their personal database. They don't care if it's correct. Continually voting no on a contribution trying to correct a profile per the rules should result in a permanent ban. |

Maybe you should read the rules carefully and do not interpret them! http://www.invelos.com/dvdpro/contributions/Rules.aspx?display=boxsets
But honestly I don't care if you understand these rules. Contribute again in this way and we all will vote against you. I think I made myself clear. |

| Posted: | | | | TV Shows is completely different then movie box sets and have their own rules. So if this person is pointing to the box set rules when it concerns a TV series then they are wrong from the start. | | | Pete |

I prefer one profile per season and don't like disc level profiles (messes up my title count for cast/crew), but... I find it easier to just vote neutral, lock my profiles and refuse disc level profiles when updating my local. Then I just don't contribute anything on those, and everybody's happy. | | | Last edited: by bigdaddyhorse |

| Posted: | | | | But the contribution correcting this needs to be uploaded and accepted. The online database must match the rules. Not what some users prefer that is against the rules. Anything against the rules needs to be local only. | | | Pete |
