| Posted: | | | | I marked something "watched" in DVD Profiler as soon as I watch the main feature. But I use Excel to track when I've watched the bonus material and commentaries. And I only track the viewing of the discs. Seeing something on TV doesn't count in my database. | | | Get the CSVExport and Database Query plug-ins here. | Posted: | | | | What I would like to see concerning the watch list is something like we have in phpdvdprofiler. It's sure the best way to do it and since this use the data from DVDP it's certainly possible to implement it in the program or in a plugin. Even just a list like this will be ok as a window for each dvd. |

I have the background color and font size to look good with my settings... so you may want to change those. I liked this so I've used it. And I've managed to change it so it displays WHO last watched as well. Is there a way to make it display the viewing history, as this is what I would actually prefer. | | | Last edited: by Pantheon |

| Posted: | | | | (In response to those who suggest just using Tags in place of a new tab...)
The main reason that I would like to see a new "Watched" tab (or even just a general "Custom" tab that can be renamed and adjusted as you see fit) is my purpose of using Profiler goes beyond movies that the current tabs fit.
As any former DVDSpot forum member will tell you, many people used the Watched tab on that site to keep track of titles that they watched but did not own. I was no exception. My "Owned" list contained 183 titles at the time of the site's closure while my Watched list contained 1,209 titles.
If a movie is one that you have watched but it is not one that you own, and it is not one that you desire to own (which, in my opinion, it is good practice to keep a record of that as well so that you at least know what you have seen) then what is it? It's not Ordered, and it's not Wishlist material.
A watched or custom tab seems the most logical option to me. | | | If at first you don't succeed, skydiving isn't for you.

| Posted: | | | | Well, it's not like you can't do it right now, it's just under the wrong name. Just don't use Ordered for ordered (I don't, I add them to owned right away, why not?) and instead use it for Watched. | | | - Jan |

I've never tried this, though there have been many suggestions for using similar code that sound interesting. | | | Another Ken (not Ken Cole) Badges? We ain't got no badges. We don't need no badges. | Posted: | | | | Just go to... View-->HTML Windows-->-->[b]Edit
That will bring up the editor Then just go to... Section-->New (Or click blank paper icon)
Name your new window click ok and past the code there. Click OK to save. Then exit out of that window and click....
View-->HTML Windows-->New Window You Named
Then you can place window where you prefer in your layout. | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | Like many of you, I also use an "unwatched" tag and filter / sort accordingly. Ann addition to the "Watched" tab idea that might make it more appealing would be some integration with the history of the DVD. For example, if I watch a DVD that was previously tagged as unwatched, I now have to both mark it as watched so it shows up in history, but I also have to remember to uncheck the unwatched tag (which I often forget to do). If there were a watched tab, it would be cool if, when it is entered as watched for the history, it would automatically add the DVD to the watched tab. It would need some options (how to handle multiple users, the ability to turn off automatically moving, etc.).
Just some brainstorming! |

| Posted: | | | | I think we could have a "Rented" column to track the movies we rent and watch. DVDSpot had that feature and it is the one thing that I miss that I can't duplicate with Profiler. |

Just some brainstorming! why not use the 'watched' facility within dvd profiler? This will keep track of what is watched (and isn't). You don't need an additional tag since you can filter unwatched dvds at anytime. | | | Paul |
