Quote: To be fair, the color/B&W rule muddies the waters. I am sorry, but it doesn't. The 'Mixed' rule deals with color, which has nothing to do with audio. As has already been pointed out, 'Music Only' means exactly that...only music and no dialogue. I don't see how it can be read any other way. It does in the sense that one rule, the color/bw rule is left open to some sort of interpretation. If you noticed my first post in the thread I already stated that I don't think you can really compare the two, I agree completely that the language should be included. Music only means music only. A sad day. I'm not sure it is for you as you haven't vote on the profile even if you brought the issue here... I think Karsten was right that your goal was to publicly embarrass the voters and that you didn't care one way or another. | | | Last edited: by Jimmy S |

| Posted: | | | | Not to mention just because it went through doesn't means it is a decision on Invelos' part. There has been many times before that they have said they just hit the wrong button... approve and decline is right next to each other... it could have been a simple mistake on the screener's part... or it is also Invelos' standing policy to let bad info in if there is also a good amount of correct info as well. So the screeners also has to do a bit of a balancing act as well. | | | Pete |

I haven't seen this film, so it is quite possible that the screener hasn't seen the filme either and relied, as they often do, on the voters to let them know there was a problem. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. Of course it wasn't me since I don't have this film and I don't vote on what I don't own, but I've check the profile in question. The user in question wasn't the one who brought this here wich made me say he just wanted to go for a round of public shaming. | | | Last edited: by Jimmy S |

| Posted: | | | | We should add two other facts into the discussion:
1) There's a lot of sound effects throughout the film. So the "Music only" choice seems quite wrong, doesn't it?
2) At least in the German version (but I am sure that also counts for some other non-English language countries) the dialogue at the end of the film is dubbed. So that means, we have English language in the original version and dubbed language in the other versions. And that all should be called "Music only"? The dubbing indicates, we have different soundtracks here for different countries. The film is dubbed! So it is not a "Music only"-film, but a film with language in it!
You may call it a silent movie as an art form, but if it comes to enter the language descriptions, it has to be the languages in question. |

The fact that the film has both an English and a German soundtrack should have settled this on page 1 but apparently some users believe they don't exist for a reason. | | | First registered: February 15, 2002 |

| Posted: | | | | Ok this is absolutely out of control. It bears the hallmarks of something that falls outside our current norms ..end result it may become a football as children fight over having it THEIR way in the nonlinear. I call artist a silent film that, to me, appears to be the filmmakers base intent. I would call it that way, locally, and whatever the children want to do is their game, my data would be correct as I believe it to be So why does anyone care, it falls outside our norms, that happens sometimes, it may even be a film that we cannot easily bring in under the rules, without writing a rule for a single film...crazy. so let the nonlinear be whatever it is and define or to suit yourself locally, lo k it and refuse future update battles. | | | ASSUME NOTHING!!!!!! Is The Artist Music Only anywhere else in the world? In any locality outside Germany? I love that red line; it really is the proverbial ashtray on a motorbike. And for what it's worth, I don't think this is Music Only. | | | Do you ever find yourself striving for perfection with an almost worthless attempt at it? Guttermouth "Lemon Water". Also, I include in my Profiler database VHS tapes, audio DVDs, audio books (digital, cassette and CD), video games (digital, DVD and CD) and 'enhanced' CDs with video tracks on them, as well as films and TV I've bought digitally. So I'm an anarchist, deal with it. Just be thankful I don't include most of my records and CDs etc in it too; don't think I haven't been tempted... |
