and from the rules...
Do not make contributions that only change or re-order Genres
So there is 2 right there.
There were others I can think of but we had them removed from the rules to allow just those changes.
But either way as long as the rules say that you would have to show where the rules tell us not to make said change to use that rule to vote no. | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | To make the argument of others, what is the point of contributing them? It makes absolutely no functional difference to the program. I think they should be treated just like genres. I doubt Ken even gave this a thought when he implemented the filter. | | | Hal |

| Posted: | | | | The point of contributing them is it is obviously what he wants for the database.... What is the point in waiting? They all must be all updated to the rules sooner or later. And the contributions are correct per rules.
The questioned asked about the rule was answered correctly per the rules.,, was it not? | | | Pete |

It is a method to deal with contributions, doesn't mean he is rubber-stamping the silly new rules. Quoting Addicted2DVD: Quote: What is the point in waiting? How many times have these 'new' rules have changes? have you seen some of the crap that has been submitted? Good data being overwritten by bad data. | Posted: | | | | If we wanted to change all profiles immediately, I would run an updater. We'll have an override process for specific titles soon, so treat this like any other minor change. If you have other changes to submit, and if the filter is operating correctly for the title, submit it. If either of these is not true, don't check the checkbox. | | | Invelos Software, Inc. | Posted: | | | | I was thinking the same thing. Ken could simply run the filter on every title if he was concerned about fixing all of the titles in the database.
Thanks for the clarification that these should not be submitted except as part of a larger change. | | | Hal |

| Posted: | | | | In a world of common sense, a lot of them should not be added whether with a wider contribution or not. |

So, contributions should NOT be made if the only change is an update to the title? And, if so, are the screeners going to decline these contributions? The reason I ask is I am finding dozens and dozens of contributions whose only change is "with" > "With" or "from" to "From" etc. Personally, I feel that it shouldn't matter if the contribution is part of a larger contribution or not. If the change is correct per the rules, it should be allowed. |

| Posted: | | | | I wonder if such spelling filters work also for foreign languages like German, Italian or French the correct way, I doubt this is the case.
