Same here.  Well, "Cast" data is pulling just fine.  No "Crew" data though.

As seen from My Movies for Windows Media Center...

I purchased this as well.  Don't have my copy yet.  Cataloged the release ahead of time based on the insert shown in an unboxing video.  And yes, you can have your cake and eat it too.  I still cataloged this per season despite 5 of the discs containing episodes that carry over from one season to another.  I also maintained the sequential numbering used for the episodes across the series as a whole (as will be seen from the Blu-ray menus) while also including the numbering per season.

As seen from the left pane of my phpDVDProfiler based website...

(Clicking on the image above will take you to my phpDVDProfiler based website.  It's not mobile device friendly though as the website uses old school frames.  If viewed from a mobile device I suggest performing a press and hold of a given profile in the left pane selecting the option to view the profile in a new tab.  Works well.)

And below are URL's to my parent profiles.  The "Overview" for each profile mirrors the given DVD release.  Also included within a given "Overview" are the Blu-ray "Special Features" that apply in addition to an "Episode List" and "Episode Guide" (with images) which serves as an excellent alternative to the insert included with the release.  And again, I still maintain the sequential numbering used for the episodes across the series as a whole while also including the numbering per season.

The Flintstones: The Complete Series

The Flintstones: The Complete First Season
The Flintstones: The Complete Second Season
The Flintstones: The Complete Third Season
The Flintstones: The Complete Fourth Season
The Flintstones: The Complete Fifth Season
The Flintstones: The Complete Sixth Season
The Man Called Flintstone
The Flintstones and WWE: Stone Age Smackdown!

And yes, I'm using the DVD cover art for each season and "The Man Called Flintstone" and the Blu-ray cover art for "The Flintstones and WWE: Stone Age Smackdown!".  Makes for a much nicer browsing experience if you ask me.

Pretty much all set at this point.  Love being able to hit the ground running once a given purchase arrives at my front door.  Once my copy arrives I'll be adding the Disc ID's, i.e. updating the "Disc Info" for each profile in addition to updating the disc level profiles identifying each by their Disc ID's instead.  I'll also be scanning the packaging as I need a better back cover image for the release as a whole.  Of course I cataloged this release for use locally.  Don't care how a given TV series release is organized.  I always break it down per season.  To each his own naturally.  Prefer to roll my own.

I've got another option for you.  If Amazon sells the given release take their ASIN and convert it to the UPC.  Free converters can be found online.  I use this approach quite a bit when creating profiles for things I've pre-ordered where the UPC still isn't known.

Is there some reason you can't enjoy your profiles locally?  Why is it so important to contribute them?  Enjoy your profiles locally, backup your local database in the event you ever need to restore it and move on.  How's that for a reaction?

DVD Profiler for iOS offers a very small feature set.  There's also no suitable way to backup/restore the database residing on your iOS device locally.  As such, I only use the app to view my collection.  Any changes to my database I make exclusively from DVD Profiler for PC, then bringing the change down to DVD Profiler for iOS over my local network.  I also backup my local database on a regular basis keeping a copy in more than one place.  Following this approach I am not dependant on the Invelos online database for anything short of downloading a profile for the first time in the event I choose not to create the profile myself.

That being said, what you're looking to do can not be done from DVD Profiler for iOS.  It can be done very easily from DVD Profiler for PC however.  From DVD Profiler for PC you would just highlight the profile in question, then selecting the "Change UPC/Locality" option.  From there you'd be able to change the profile's ID from a "Manual ID" to one that uses the "UPC" or "Disc ID" instead.  If the "UPC" or "Disc ID" you set the profile to existed in the Invelos online database you'd then be able to fresh your local profile via the "Online/Refresh DVD from Invelos" option, so that it matched the official Invelos profile.

I use DVD Profiler for iOS to view my collection only.  Any changes to my database I implement from DVD Profiler for PC, then performing a sync from DVD Profiler for iOS over my local network.  The one exception to this would be with respects to "Watched" status.  I do mark profiles as "Watched" from DVD Profiler for iOS in addition to updating my "Watched" tags, then syncing those changes over to DVD Profiler for PC.  Again though, aside from that all changes to my database are done from DVD Profiler for PC.  End result, doesn't matter what iOS version I happen to be running.  As long as said iOS version provides for browsing my collection properly within DVD Profiler for iOS I'm good.  I also benefit from the fact that my database is housed locally and backed up locally.  If the Invelos online database is ever taken offline I won't be impacted aside from the fact I'll have to create profiles from scratch going forward.  The same won't be true for those only using DVD Profiler for iOS.  Something to think about.

With just under 5,000 profiles at present I could care less if the Invelos online database is available or not.  Once I download a profile I update it as I see fit, then locking it down.  I never need to download the given profile again and when going to add a new profile I can always do so manually if needed.  It doesn't take that long.  I also backup my local database on a regular basis making sure every few months that my latest backup is copied to several different systems, including my web space.  If I ever need to restore my database I do so locally.  I don't need the Invelos online database for that.  Am I missing something?  What fatal thing is supposed to happen if the Invelos database is taken offline?

To each his own, but I'm not interested in a new version of the application.  There's no reason to reinvent the wheel.  The application has all the data points I need.  I can arrange the layout as I see fit and customize the experience in a number of different ways.  There's all sorts of third party plugins and utilities available.  There's no online authentification which means all I need is my registration key when going to use the application for the first time after a fresh install.  I'm not required to log in to some online account (and maintain a connection to some online server) in order to use the application.  If Invelos ever closes up shop I'll be able to continue using the application for as long as I want.  Naturally I'm not opposed to Invelos resuming development.  At the same time, I see absolutely no reason look for a different solution.  Again though, to each his own.

More and more of my collection is winding up on my Plex server.  I think I have about 15 TB of video files on there so far.

Dell PowerEdge T430, very nice.  That's one sexy beast!

And speaking of storage capacity, I recently upgraded mine.  Well, my disc based storage.  Added a couple more Sony BDP-CX7000ES 400-disc Blu-ray Players to my setup.  Have 13 total now in addition to 6 Sony DVP-CX985V 400-disc DVD Players.  (Not counting the DVD changers) that's 260TB of disc based storage, 20TB per unit.  Well, if each disc were a maxed out BD50.

(See my Blu-ray.com forum post here to learn more about how I'm cataloging my collection, then in turn browsing for and initiating playback of a given disc.  I do touch on that here as well, a few posts back.  My recent Blu-ray.com forum post provides a more in-depth look though.)

Episode selection equals Title selection.  Scene selection equals Chapter selection.  Disc menus for TV series on DVD/Blu-ray typically only offer Title (Episode) selection.  Rarely have I encountered Chapter (Scene) selection per Title (Episode) offered as well.  And yes, most TV episode titles include chapter stops.  The "Scene Access" feature is defined as Chapter selection being available from the disc menu though.

With DVD Profiler for PC you can create as many custom media types as you want.  If you want something bad enough make it happen.  Put the silly mobile phone down, acquire DVD Profiler for PC and get to work.  You can then sync your DVD Profiler for PC database to your mobile device directly or through Invelos instead.

Keep forgetting to ask you DJ.  Do you know when Deep Space Nine is being released on Blu-ray?  Thanks in advance!

In the state that Star Trek and CBS ViaCom is in? Probably never.

As far as I know TNG already wasn't a huge success on Blu-ray so I doubt they'll spend the money to remaster the DS9 originals.

Darn.  I thought you might have some pull considering your affiliation with the Ferengi Alliance.

Hello DJ, I have big problems with 2.1.5.2. I already have to start it as admin, but after starting it won't appear. I can see it in task manager, but I don't get a window. It's Win10. Do you have an idea?

Do you see the application down on your Taskbar as well once launched or only in Task Manager.  Perhaps the application is opening off-screen.  If it is opening off-screen try selecting it down on your Taskbar, then holding your Windows key down, then pressing your left/right cursor keys a couple times in one direction or the other.

The new version (2.1.5.2) seems to have a bug: No matter if I only update or completely replace the former version, every time I start the new one, it tells me that it is 2.1.5.1 - either the version doesn't recognize itself or I downloaded an old version altough I wanted the new? Just confusing....
But it seems to be the new one as all the problems I had before are gone

I'm seeing the same thing.  The new version probably just needs tweaked, so that it's recognized as 2.1.5.2.  Tested under both Windows 7 and Windows 10. (Installed VirtualBox/Windows 10 yesterday.) It still works under Windows 7 while providing the new WebView control if on Windows 10 for the improved browser tab experience.

Well that will not do!

I'll create a switch based on the Windows version. Will have to reactivate the old code.

That would be awesome.  Thanks in advance!

Hi DJ.  Do you still have a URL for the version prior to switching to the WebView control?  I foolishly overwrote the zip files I downloaded earlier today.

Nice.  Sadly it doesn't look like I'll be able to run this version.  When attempting to launch the application the below error is displayed.
Quote:
Critical Error!
Unable to initialize the WebView control because the system is running a version of Windows that doesn't support this control. The WebView control runs only on Windows 10 April 2018 Update or later.

A log file was created under
"C:\Users\...\AppData\Local\Temp\CastCrewEdit2Crash.xml".
Please send it to karsten@yajirobi.de.

I'm still on Windows 7 and have no plans to migrate to Windows 10 as I run a number or legacy applications that aren't Windows 10 friendly.  Thanks for the update though.  People will surely enjoy it!

I noticed this yesterday so I just started determining the URL outside of the application, then entering it on the Movie or TV Show tab myself.  Great to see the Browser tab can be used once again.  Many thanks DJ!
