| Posted: | | | | I've just tried to add this myself, and DVD Profiler indeed warns that it seems to be an invalid EAN, but I don't see why. It has the appropriate number of digits, and the DVD actually seems to exist: https://www.unilibro.it/dvd/james-cotten/demon-slayer/8032958370177The good news is that you can ignore these warnings and add it your database regardless of the warning. So you can at least have it in your local database, but DVD Profiler doesn't let us contribute that profile into the online database. That's unfortunate. If DVD Profiler had still had someone reading the support tickets, I would have suggested to open one of those - but my most recent one is from August 21, 2019 and still hasn't been read to this day. Adding it by Disc ID will probably work, but it really shouldn't have to be necessary... |

| Posted: | | | | On a technical level, the last digit of this EAN should be 803295837017 3, that's why DVDP is complaining. Quoting T!M: Quote: I've just tried to add this myself, and DVD Profiler indeed warns that it seems to be an invalid EAN, but I don't see why. The last digit of the EAN is what is called a checksum. It runs a bit of math on the first 12 digits and then determines the 13th. That's how you can know if a number is valid or if there are (transmission) errors. | | | Karsten DVD Collectors Online

| Posted: | | | | This looks like a low-budget movie, so it could be a priniting error or a a tiny media company that has no grasp of the EAN system or it might even be a bootleg. When you look at the Italian Amazon page, it has basically no info and is only sold by third-party. | | | Karsten DVD Collectors Online

When you look at the Italian Amazon page, it has basically no info and is only sold by third-party. It could be a bootleg, indeed, in which case it shouldn't be submitted into the database, but there are a couple of reputable Italian e-tailers listing it: - https://www.unilibro.it/dvd/james-cotten/demon-slayer/8032958370177 - https://www.dvd-store.it/Video/DVD-Video/ID-7685/The-Demon-Slayer Pictures of the front and back can be seen on eBay here. IMDb lists distributor 'E.P. Production' among their list of companies, here. So while it *could* be a bootleg, I'm not sure. |

| Posted: | | | | Not sure if this helps at all, but when I make the internal calls to the online database, there no entries for "80329583701773", either as a profile ID or as UPC base for other profiles. So, you should be able to submit as "80329583701773" with any valid locality. | | | Thanks for your support. Free Plugins available here. Advanced plugins available here. Hey, new product!!! So they're either totally incompetent or (more likely) these are all bootlegs. | | | Karsten DVD Collectors Online

That's one digit to many. The erroneous one ends in 0177, the correct end would be 0173. Ok, thanks. The API accepts things, even though not a valid EAN. I should have known better. It even accepts stuff starting with "I" for disc profiles, "M" for manual profiles, "V" for alternate profiles and "_" for user defined profiles. Silly me. | | | Thanks for your support.
