I tried searching for help with this, but I picked up a (still sealed) copy of the Hellboy steelbook from 2019, but the DVD's disc ID is in use with another release of the movie. Is there some way I can contribute the profile without a disc ID or UPC, since having two of the same identifiers isn't allowed?

You can copy the original and make an alternate version.

Only if the UPC and locality are the same. The same discID is frequently found in releases of the same title in different localities, US and Canada for instance.

Excellent, thank you very much for the information. I've been trying to update profiles from my own collection (and I'm talking to a friend who's a manager at a used video store to let me use their stock to update things as much as possible).

Agree with the comment about the Localities, not the UPC. You can create alternate entries for discs in the same locality which are shared by different releases with different UPCs.

If the UPC are different, why would you need an alternate version?

Box-sets without individual UPCs for each movie is an example.
