If he does that, it should un-maximize the window. If the buttons still dont show up, we may have to call the button police!

I think you need to call the button police and put out an APB.

Gerri mentioned dropping the task bar down to 1 row instead of 2.  I had all kinds of problems with XP Pro when I first installed it when I tried running 2 rows.  Of course, that was fairly early in XPs chain of patches, so I don't know if it is still a problem or not.  Worth trying though.

Maybe this is slightly off topic but I just can't get my head around this.
Why is it important to hide the icon in the top left corner and the x-button in the top right corner of this window?

I think he's already tried that Gerri, though thanks!
It does look like the buttons are almost definitely not loading into the window, rather than them simply being hidden from view, though what would cause that is beyond me!

The one thing I didn't try, was drop down my fonts to normal size -- because of working on high resolutions I work on 120% size fonts.  I know many of the dialogs in DVDP doesn't like that and text sometimes run into each other, but generally all the buttons are there ... maybe this is the cause?

**Edit**
I am actually running on normal fonts at the moment, so that can't be the source of the problem in my case either.  But Alt-F4 also works, so at least I have 3 ways out. But no buttons, no entries on the menu under file and no minimise/close buttons on the title bar.

I suggest you do a backup of your database (just to be careful) and then do uninstall / reinstall of dvd profiler.

(and make sure you write down your registration details for v3 so you have these handy when you reinstall.)

Good idea, Paul.  I would also start out at a much lower resolution, like 1024x768, and make sure everything is working right before bumping back up to the max.

I'll give the uninstall/reinstall a try.

I've been using the double-height taskbar for half a decade on two computers with no problems. And I'm running the native resolution of my notebook's screen.

I've got a triple height taskbar and have not seen this problem.
