Hi everyone, first time poster but DVDP user for the last few years.  These boards have helped me get the most out of the program, but now I have a question I can't find the answer to on my own.

I have quite a few TV show sets in my collection.  I want to generate 2 reports, one for TV shows and one for movies.

I can get the TV only reports, and I simply filter on the Television genre.  I can't figure out how to filter out the TV genre, leaving only the movies.

Maybe this could actually be a feature request.  There is already a selection AND and OR.  If there was also NOT I could simply check that and TV, allowing just the movies to come up.

Any suggestions would be helpful.  I did search the forums, but didn't find anything.  If I missed something, I apologize and would welcome a link.

Again, thanks for your help.

I use tags. One of the set of tags I have Television
and  number of children tags. example: movies, mini-series, music, documentary, TV series:, etc.

On the defaul screen and right above he collection list are two tabs:
Filters and Set Tags/
To create a tag click on Set Tags
a box should pop up, click in the box and you have the option to create a tag.
Once the tag is created  you can click here on the tag to set it or in the Personalize screen in the profile.

If you want very basic and simple method create a tag for television.
Set the tag for primary profile for all the television series.
Then when you want a report of the TV series:

1. Under filters select the "tag" tab you see your TV tag, set it. You should then see only TV series,
2. Then under  the Collection select "flags: set "Flag All Filtered",

The reports screen to the lower right you'll find the to print only filtered.
That should give a print out of the TV series.

To print out all the non-TV series, movies and what ever proceed repeat steps 1 & 2.
Wait until all tv series are flagged then
Under Collection set the "Invert Flags"
Now all the non-TV series should be flag.
Net print as instructed above.

When through Under Collections "Flags" set "Unflag All" or UNflag All flagged"
That should unflag every thing and put back to normal.

THANK YOU!

I just tried that using the exisiting Television genre setting I've been using instead of tags and it gave me exactly what I wanted.

I never thought of using flags.  Great tip!

Again, thanks for the help.

I use tags and child tags to tv to seperate the types of tv shows, the genre select them all. television.
I also use tages for the genre that are not listed, mystery, crime, history, film noir, etc. Also tags for the retailers I buy from. Ihad tags for the the Country of Origin. And many, many more.
