I also get various violations when I finish adding a dvd (about 70% of the time) or set filters (about 50% of the time) which I will post when I see them next. |

FYI - Ken said he couldn't duplicate the problem and therefore couldn't fix it.. I was waiting to see when 3.03 gets released and if that solves the problem. Are you using the beta? | | | | Paul |

| | Posted: | | | | I've just noticed that these access violations always seem to happen just after the program refreshes the collection list (after for example, adding a disc or applying/removing filters etc).
The green status bar fills up to the end but then you get an access violation error instead of the window displaying the new information.
But again, there doesn't seem to be a set thing that we do that causes it, but it always happens (for me anyway) at that point.

Yes, that is when the error occurs ... on any "refresh" ... even selecting a studio for a manually input film.
However, I've begun to notice that movies where entred through the last several days are being "deleted" from the database ... not all of them, but at random. I've compared two XML files generated on different days and found a difference of four movie titles in one which are not in the other, although the titles were entered into the first and not deleted.
I'm abstaining from using Profiler until this issue is resolved. I usually enter upwards of 30 movies a month (been a movie collector since Laserdisc days), and don't want the hassle of checking every couple of days to see if what was entered is still there and having to re-enter it.
Once the program is stable, I plan to use it fully ... until then it's back to DVDpedia on the MAC. |

I haven't found this problem at all - are you by any chance using Visata? In which case this is a known issue with Vista (and the answer is documented here). Are you using the latest beta - in which case you need to post this in the beta forum.. | | | | Paul |

| | Posted: | | | | Nope ... XP Media Center 2000 with all service packs. Was using the Beta Version, but reverted to non-Beta when these problems began occurring.
About 30% of the DVDs I normally enter during a month are manually entered ... not in Invelos database (old silent movies, Christian films, etc). It took almost one hour to enter three movies with all of the errors generated. I usually edit the synopsis of normally downloaded movies to reflect the content of the film itself ... not technical DVD specifications or actor accolades. When editing either currently downloaded or existing records I had the same problem ... the problem would generate an access error causing me to shut it down via task master, run a database repair (sometimes requiring a re-boot as the repair software reported Profiler still running (which wasn't apparent to me). Repairing a 3,600+ record database several times during the day is very time consuming.
This has been my experience with Profiler ... sometimes version 2 would generate this same error, not to the degree or frequency experienced now. I would almost consider re-entering every record by hand (no import), except the program generates the error in this scenario also.
