Carry on . Come on, Max, gimme a break. We don't live in a vacuum. Much of what is bad that has happened in the world since 1963 can be laid at the feet of LBJ. Even back in the day, his wife was a figure of controversy. There were those who adored her, and those who wondered how a decent woman could bring herself to live with a monster like LBJ. All this stuff about how great she was conveniently leaves out the facts and sugarcoats everything as if none of the bad stuff ever happened. I'm sorry if I can't be sympathetic or sad in situations like this. Why all the handwringing and pathos about how wonderful she was? I don't know if I'd call her a sympathetic character, but I believe she was a tragic character. | | | John
