Hi. If a disc contains trailers for other movies, but not one for the movie itself, do we check off the "Trailers" under disc features? It's a bit misleading, because some people are looking at disc features to see if the actual movie trailer is included; when it might just be some lame cross-promotion for other titles offered by the same studio. Any thoughts?

Question #2 - do the forced trailers at the start of many discs count as a "Trailers" feature?

The rules say "Theatrical Trailers for the main feature or other films." so it's both, and there's currently no real way to differentiate the two under Features.

Question #2 is yes, at least the way I've always understood it here.

yeah... if there is trailers on the disc then the trailer box is checked. As was said when this was brought up at Intervocative... a trailer is a trailer is a trailer.

Yes, unfortunately, the rules don't allow for any other interpretation. Even forced trailers on startup - which I thoroughly hate, especially when "skipping ahead" is prohibited - count. But for my local database, I only use the 'Trailers' checkbox when there are trailer(s) or TV spot(s) for the movie itself. I've posted features requests both here and a long time ago at Intervocative about giving us a separate checkbox for cross-promotional trailers, but without any result - yet...
