Going through my entire collection, I have now arrived at 'special interest' DVDs and notice that most of them are not in the master database yet.
Now these include instructional videos, documentaries, demo material, etc...
Is there a limit to what DVDs we contribute or is anything that is in the DVD-video format allowed, even stuff like training material on DVD, instructional videos, DVDs that you get for free with your box of cornflakes, etc... ?

No there is no limit so long as they are legitimate DVDs distributed to a 'reasonably wide area' of the general public (eg, not ones produced by a school for all the parents).

They just aren't in the database because nobody who contributes happens to have them...

So I guess we could safely generalize this as "pressed DVDs" ? We obviously don't want DVD-Rs, and I don't think a school would have the money to issue a pressed DVD anyway .

Basically, any commercially available DVD can be submitted to the online database. Special interest DVDs have a much smaller market than films, but they're still allowed.

I've had no problem with commercially available DVD-Rs made and sold at and for local ice skating shows... even if I submitted them by disc ID. Soon I will have another one, of the recent Iceland show "Artistry on Ice".
If it wasn't for bad taste, I wouldn't have no taste at all.
