Need clarification about a contribution |

| | Posted: | | | | I am currently voting on contributions for Coupling. They are listing the 2nd & 3rd Seasons as BOX SETS.
The rules state the following:
The term "Box Set" is used to define any release that includes more than one film. The main examples are:
Sets where each film is packaged individually, and held together in a package of some kind.
Sets where each film is on a separate disc, but not individually packaged. This includes gatefold Digipaks and 2-Disc sets in normal DVD cases.
Sets containing 2 films, one on each side of Dual-Sided DVD.
Why would this be considerd a Box Set?
I am currently voting NO to this, but will change my vote if I am reading this rule wrong and someone can explain that to me.

That is my way of thinking also ... that is why I am voting NO at this point. I thought BOX SETS were like The Adventures of Indiana Jones ... Star Wars ... ones like that. There was a NO vote and then it got changed to YES ... this is why:
I've changed my vote, since child profiles can be created for each individual disc, the Disc ID's would go in the Box Set section.
Can someone explain this to me?
I am not trying to start a fight or anything here ... just need some clarification as to whether my NO vote is incorrect.

| | Posted: | | | | Child Profiles ARE ALLOWED for TV Series, but the contributions cannot remove data for those profiles. For example, you can add the Box Set info (the 2 child profiles), but you can't remove the audio, cast and crew, etc. and state that the information can be found on the child profiles. But the child profiles themselves can be entered. |

| | Posted: | | | | Without the UPC's for the exact profiles you're talking about it's hard to say for sure, but TV sets fall under both categories.
TV series profiles should be self contained so all info is in the 1 profile, but it's also allowed to have child profiles per DiscID. This was a compromise made to settle differences between people who didn't want Box Set type profiles and those who did. The single profile is mandatory for TV Series, but the additional child profiles are not.
So, if someone does do Child profiles, they can add them to the Box Set section of the Parent profile if they choose. The ones I am speaking of are:
Coupling: The Complete Second Season [794051-186829]
Coupling: The Complete Third Season [794051-201027]
I like the way it is set up now ... so maybe the best thing for me to do is lock the DVD locally.
My main concern here is how to vote for these contributions. I do not want to vote NO if the contributions are within the guidlines. | | Posted: | | | | Basically the only difference between Movie Boxsets and TV Series Boxsets is that both the child profiles and the parent profiles get all the info that pertains to it. But yes... child profiles are within the rules for TV series... the only reason for voting no to a parent profile for TV Series is if the contributor is removing info from the parent profile. | | | | Pete |

It would seem to me that you are confusing types of packaging (digipack, slipcase etc.) with types of profile (parent or box set profiles vs. child profiles).
The term "box set" is no longer in use to indicate a type of packaging and now exclusively refers to a type of profile (otherwise known as parent profile) that has child profiles. |
