I really don't understand. When I contribute cast/crew info with a complete source for a dvd and contribute the scans of the front/back cover later on, my source info gets erased, so the only info there is on the profile is that I contributed the scans. Of course then everything gets rejected. (without a good reliable source for cast & crew) This happened to me a couple of times now already, and that's quite annoying, because I didn't save the EAN codes I copied the cast/crew info from to contribute it again But this also means that I scanned those images for nothing

There's the rub, I think. You cannot have two contributions pending for the same profile at once. If you've submitted one with cast and crew data, you will have to wait until that update gets evaluated by the screeners before you can contribute another update, like cover scans. So either you wait a few days until your original update gets approved before re-contributing the same profile, or else you will need to include all data plus documentation of the contribution-that-is-still-pending-but-about-to-be-overwritten, in your new contribution. If you're looking for your old contribution notes - as far as I know these don't get lost. You should be able to find them back using the 'view contributors' link on the profile in DVD Profiler, and then clicking 'view contribution notes'.

Ok, that's clear. I will wait next time, when I'm really finished But unfortunately, the old contribution notes do get lost.(In my 'view contributors' link, I mean) I think they are overwritten when I submit the scans But thanks for the quick reply I will keep that in mind next time.

T!M is right in all the particulars.

When you click the 'View Contributors' link you initially see all the accepted contributions.

If from that window you click "View contribution notes" you'll see all the mis-steps you and others made mixed with the accepted notes.

If i withdraw or update a contribution the old notes are left there.

But do they remain if you overwrite one pending contribution with another?

Well, in my experience they don't. For example, I first left the note "cast & crew copied from EAN XXXX". I get a thank you message. Then I contribute the scans with the note "Scan of dvd cover". Again a thank you message. Now, when I go to that link we speak of and click on the movie title, the only thing there is, is "Scan of dvd cover" (my last contribution of that particular movie). My note "cast & crew copied from EAN XXXX" is totally gone.

Yes, each contribution entry creates a post in the contribution notes the title. Look here to see my notes, all I did was make a correction and re-submit, with out withdrawing the first contribution.

Just out of curiosity, what is the UPC/EAN for that contribution so we can look it up. There have been rare glitches where a contribution gets lost. If you are looking at the contributions page under My Profiler, then only the most recent contribution will show there if you have submitted the same profile more than once, but on the full contribution notes page, each submission's notes will be visible forever.

Ok, maybe it's because it's late, but all of you are right. I was looking with my nose... Just click another button. I'm really sorry, but for my excuse, I haven't been using this program very long. Still learning.

No worries, it has happened to all of us. Welcome to the forums, by the way. And a word of warning, having this program is going to make you buy more DVDs.

But now you qualify as an expert on contribution notes!

And antolod is right, you'll end up increasing the DVD budget.

I hope so. I do have another silly question, or should I open a new topic for that?

I've run into this also a couple of times. What I eventually did was just withdraw the previous submission and resubmit all data again. Usually, in the contribution notes I apologize to the voters for having to vote again .
