I'm evaluating DVDP before buying and have run into an issue I'd like to resolve first.
I am trying to add a dvd to my collection. I'm doing so "by title", it does not exist in the online database and does not seem to give me a way to simply add my own data to describe the disk
and add it. This will be a very common occurance as I have quite a few small videos I'd like to
catalog (funny commercials, youtube stuff, etc). I did not see anything in the manual for doing
so. Sorry it this is a redundant (likely) question.
Thanks for any tips.

At the bottom of the screen Uncheck the box download from IVS then you will be able to add it manually.

Just to flesh out Larry's answer a bit, the screen he's talking about is the "Add DVDs to Owned" screen.

you should be aware that the way we do things here as far as data integrity, you may want to add by UPC code instead.

Since these are not officially sold DVDs you have to do the following:

Go to the "Add by Title" tab.
Uncheck "Download from Invelos" at the bottom of the page.
Enter your title and edit the profile.

You'll never find these titles in the online database because it contains only DVDs that are sold in shops or are in magazines.

Thanks all.
That did the trick.
One thing that seems to be sorely lacking though is IMDB lookup.
I've been using ANT for awhile now and am pretty happy with. I can manually
add a title and it will give me the option of using numerous online databases
to fill in the info. Very nice. This capability seems to be missing from DvdProfiler.
If thats the case, I think I'll just stick with ANT.

IMDB look-up is at the bottom of the online menu.

There are licensing issues involved with contributing profiles that contain data gleaned from third-party databases. Therefore, Invelos does not add that capability to the program.

Moreover, IMDb is thoroughly unreliable as far as the correctness of data is concerned. Invelos has a user-built database.
