I posted it on the wrong discussion, so if you had read this before, i apologize...

I add two new DVD's, without the last two digits, both EAN are the same for the first thirteen digits, i get two different movies from the database, one from the netherlands and a belgien one, but none like my new dvd's... troubles again...
When i add the "complete EAN"... i would say, i get a false report of dvdprofiler, no 15 digtis allowed....
I made quick scans from the backside of the dvd's...
How to contribute?

The standard EAN is 13 digits: 5-413660-909616, and apparently that EAN is shared by all the Filmbibliotheektitles.
Filmbibliotheektitles use 2 extra digits to distinguish one title from the other,
but in DVD Profiler you can only enter standard 13-digit EANs, not the extended 15-digit ones.
And you can enter only one EAN per Locality.

The problem is, "5-413660-909616 Netherlands" is already used in the DVDP database (The English Patient), thus you can't contribute your DVDs using the same EAN/Locality. But you can contribute them by Disc-ID: I mean, change the EAN of the profiles to their Disc-ID (in the DVD menu) and contribute.

Enry is correct. Skip's suggestion is not a valid EAN or UPC.

You have to contribute these DVDs with the disc ID. The two last digits in the bar code area and the actual bar code below them are not part of the EAN. There is a clear visible gap between the bar codes and the digits are above the bar code. It is just another code assigned to this DVD.

There seems to be a lot of confusion with EANs and UPCs. I'm sure that when you have seen one EAN bar code, you should recognize any EAN bar code to be an EAN. Not all bar codes in DVDs are EAN. If the bar code does not follow the standard representation of an EAN, then it should not be treated as one.

Contribute by Disc ID, definitely. Put the DVD in your DVD-ROM drive, then in DVD Profiler go to the menu "DVD", choose "Change UPC" and tick the checkbox "Use disc ID from inserted disc" and click "OK".
Next you will be able to contribute the DVD.

Sorry, I misread that both dvds had the same EAN.  Since both do have the same EAN then you would have to contribute them by DiscID EnryWiki's correct.

... not part of the EAN 13 code, but part of the EAN code: it's called Add-On-Code and is commonly used with printed media to distinguish between the issues over a period (commonly a year).

The only possibility is to add the disc with the disc ID

It would be nice to have more flexibility with barcodes, but I suppose we have to protect ourselves against typos somehow.
Adding by disc ID is the best we can currently do in this situation.
