As an aside, I've also noticed more people saying things like 'thanks' in the comments for yes votes. Angling for positive rep points perhaps? I express my thanks because I appreciate the time and effort that someone gives to make the database better. I have always said "thank you" for contributions even before the voting system was enacted. I don't do it for a green arrow but...  |

It looks to me like he put the rep system in place so that it could all happen without him needing to pass judgment on any one users posts.
