The font style in the overview below, from Night of the Comet, gives the impression of being italicized because of the lean in the letters.  Whether it really is italicized or just a leaning font doesn't matter.  The existing, submitted overview treats it all as normal text as it should (i've noted that is the norm for overviews that are totally in italics)

The question is the word "mauling" in the 3rd from last line which stands upright making it unique from the rest of the overview.

Would it be acceptable to submit a change to put this word in single quotes (italics once the beta isn't beta) to make this word stand out from the rest?

I would agree with that. Are the first 4 words also in bold, or just bigger? It's hard to tell from the image.

They just seem bigger to me.  The existing profile treats them as "just bigger" (that is not capitalized) and i'm OK with that.  I look at them like a "drop cap" first letter.

LOL, I have already seen this kind of thing now that we have that ability. You have a "reverse" overvioew there, it's bold, the forst few words, and italics with mauling being in normal typeface.<shrugs> Whatare you gonna do, leave it to hollywood.

Yes, yes, we know you hate Hollywood.

Just to make sure i understand you are saying the whole Overview should be italicized except the one word?  I didn't offer that up as an option because all-italic Overviews i've seen previously were treated as all normal (no quotes around the whole thing).  I guess that is an option with the beta since it is more directly visible.

In the current set-up, I'd certainly handle it that way, yes: quotes around 'mauling', and nothing else. But in the new version... Since that lets us mimic what's seen on the cover more closely, I guess we might indeed put it all in italics, apart from that one word.

I'm slightly worried about the different opinions on whether the first words should be bolded or not, though: I hope this won't become a ping-pong area.

I simply asked because I couldn't tell whether the first words were larger and bold, or just larger.
I'm more than happy to accept tweeter's word that they are simply larger. That in itself does not warrant any extra attention by us I believe.

It is actually more my "opinion" than my "word".  I look at the jacket and yes, the first words are a larger version of the same font.  That by itself doesn't make them also bold, just bigger.  Since we ignore  font sizes, and i have no objective evidence they are anything but bigger, my inclination is to leave them as is.

In 3.5, I would make the entire Overview italics except for the word "maulïng".

Ouch, I own that title.  Looks like it'll be the first overview that I'll have to lock locally before it gets "fixed".

I knew, there was a reason why I didn't look forward to the italics and bold feature for overviews.

Yup.  Once again another example where we should just submit screenshots instead of usable data.  It'll be correct...darn hard to read, but correct.  These things tend to sort themselves out over time.

I don't know why it would be hard to read... I know I don't have any trouble reading text that is bold or italic. But either way I don't see what the problem is as you can turn off bold and Italics in the options anyway... so if you don't want to see it you don't have to.

all you have to do is go into options... go to Display.... check off Suppress Overview Text Formatting.

Then you don't have to worry about it... as all you will see is plain text in the overview field.
