Hi,

Very small issue, but hey, may as well note them all....

The cast member of Live Free or Die Hard spells his name "Tim deZarn".  I verified in the actual DVD credits.  However, DVDP does not accept that precise spelling no matter how I try to nudge it.  It insists on adding a space, making it "Tim de Zarn" which is technically incorrect.

There are also a few different spellings of his name in the DB meaning all won't be found via the same search.  Any way to consolidate them all into the correct method?

Thanks,
DD.

I'm not sure what to say to this one as he's listed as DeZarn on the UK blu-ray -

Maybe try downloading another profile & copying the cast across?

No it doesn't. The only way when DVD Profiler would insert a space is when you'd be entering "de" in the "middle name" field, which would be wrong. "deZarn" is his last name, and as such, it belongs in the "last name" field. I believe you won't have any trouble when you enter it correctly like that.

For the record: that blu-ray-profile is wrong. It's not "Tim DeZarn" but "Tim deZarn", and that's his "common name" as well.

I don't think this is correct Tim.

Names such as 'de la Garza' appear correctly with spaces in the surname field.

Am I misunderstanding what you're saying?

Yes, you are, pal. The initial post was referencing a problem and the ONLY weay that he could experience that problem is as Tim described. IF he were strctly within the L:ast Name field he could input the data as it is displayed, space wise.

Yes, you can add a space in the last name field but it's all about how someone is credited the most. If that's without a space and with a small letter, it's that what we have to use as his common name no matter if it will be common to write it that way.

The user is NOT asking about Common name, he is asking about a basic entry.

Ah, found the problem.  I was not using Middle Name for "de", what I was trying to do was edit the "Enter Role Played" dialog box.  Every time I changed it to "Tim deZarn" it would turn around and put it in with the space "Tim de Zarn".  I finally figured it out, it was pulling that name from the list of existing names on the left-hand side.  If I edit the name on the left-hand side of the Cast dialog box, then click Replace, it keeps the correct spelling on the right-hand side.

Live and learn.

Thanks (hey, have only had this prog a coupla weeks)....
