| | Posted: | | | | One area you may want to consider for the future,, is a Large 'area rug' laid down in front of the speakers .. You will notice a considerable difference in ambience and the 5.1 sound won't sound so echooee..  Try it even if you have to borrow a large 8 x 12 carpeting.. | | Posted: | | | | The juke is a 1988 AMI Rowe R92. Holds 100 45's (yes vinyl) and plays 200 selections. It is full of country right now from the 90's. I am switching it over to pop from the 80's when I get a minute. I also built a touch screen jukebox that plays throughout the house audio system. Same interface is in the bar systems from E-Cast or Touch Tunes. It holds at this time 20,000.00 songs (no limit to capacity) and it ranges from Big Band to todays music. | | Posted: | | | | This is not the basement, but an addition over the garage. it is 24 x 26 feet in diameter. Almost square. The basement is being converted into a library to house my Albums, 78's 45's and cassettes, DVD and book collection. It will be probably in the fall when I start that project. Quoting leo1963: Quote:

| | Posted: | | | | I like it's jukebox interface, it would go well with a tablet PC or one of those new small laptops with a solid state hard drive and touch screen (though it looks like you have to Remote Desktop into the PC running the software). Previously, I ran Virtual Music Jukebox and it functioned quite well. VMJ utilized the music sorted out by "Artist > Album > Song" directory layout and displayed the file Album.jpg as the cover art - I have my music collection ordered this way (with an extra Genre directory on top).  I wonder how Album Player displays album art? I ripped all my CD's to MP3 format (6,847 files!) and spent awhile last year cleaning up the tags and embedding the album art into each file. which is the longest distance in the room in the room, personally would of lost the fans and aircon'd the room would of gone with 2 false walls, pushed the projector back back behind the rear false wall front false walls would of hid the speakers, amps and so forth would of gone behind the rear wall out of sight...
would of allowed enough in front for projector to support 2:35 lens
looking at the size of the room as it stands now add another 2-4 foot in room height , I would go with cinema seats install you could of done a 9.1-11.3 system in there quite easily. 5.1 i think would sound stunted as you got to much space there, looks like you got more distance windows way than wood door to wood door.. |

As far as false walls to build an actual theater enviroment, That is not what I wanted. The theaters are for that when we go out. This is a entertainment or game room that you can shoot pool, sit at the bar or out on the deck and enjoy a drink, listen to music or watch a game on the big screen. My wife and I entertain quite often and this room will allow us to do so especially in the long winter months of New England. | | | | Last edited: by Bill MacNeill |
