To you maybe it's not attack. I view it as demeaning choice of verbiage. A back-handed, using your words, term of affection meant to denigrate. A limey is a term of affection, Sam. BTW, Sam, the British are NOT a race, they are a nation of people, you have displayed disdain for Americans, yet I don't call you a racist or a bigot, both terms are wrong and insulting at best.

Try saying that to a British person you don't know well to his face and see how fast you get your you know what kicked.

Try anytime, rom, anytime. You have already revealed yourself as a hypocrite. You worry me not at all, nor does your opinions since you have proven yourself by your selective attack. gee, maybe based on the free use around here of such insulting terms you are a bigot<gasp> Say it ain't so.

And as for the actual topic (very sorry MovieMan), I believe she should be added as cast for reasons mentioned by everyone but Skip.

According to the Rules Voices that are separated from the Cast are not Cast. All you have to do is have the simple ability of reading comprehension, which is sorely lacking here.

I am sorry, but the rules say nothing of the kind.  The rules simply define standard credits, as those where all credited actors involved are listed together in a single section at the end of the film, and then tell us what to do when the film has them...standard credits I mean.  Nowhere do they require voice credits to be part of that list in order to be considered cast...puppeteers, yes, voice credits, no.

The problem, and this is happening more an more lately, is that this situation is not listed under the 'non-standard credits' section.  In cases like this, I have begun to look towards the spirit of the rules and, based on the other 'non-standard credits' rules, I think this situation qualifies for entry.

And you are wrong, Martian. that is not. the spirit of the rules, as is clear from a COMPLETE reading of the Rule. And I am in a better place to be able to make that statement. It was YOU who came up with accommodation and I have always accepted that, as reasonable. But to try and create a new definition for non-standard that is outside of both the words and the spirit of the Rules is wrong. Divination doesn't work. I have decided that once the approval is given for the existing contribution, I will contribute based on the aforementioned accommodation and the fact that the Stunt personnel are clearly a part of this particular cast list and we will see, just exactly WHO follows the Rules and who ignores them. Wanna bet i can give the names of those who will ignore the Rules right now.

I will include for your benefit the two parts of the rules that are applicable, Martian.
"For the purposes of this section we define "standard" film credits as those where all credited actors involved are listed together in a single section at the end of the film - defined here as the "end credits". The section details both the actor’s Name and the Role that they played in the film. The credits may be listed "in order of appearance", "alphabetical order" or in an order of importance decided by the filmmakers. Some actors may be credited a second time in either credits at either the opening or close of the film."

"If a film does not have standard credits, use the following rules:

    * If a film has actors listed in the opening credits, which are not listed in the end credits, add these to the list in DVD Profiler before those taken from the end credits.
    * If a film has no end credits, but does have actors credited elsewhere, enter the actors from those credits.
    * If an actor is credited by name but does not have an associated role, you may use the film itself, or another source to identify the role. However, mass copy from a third party commercial database which violates their stated usage license is not allowed. In each case, list Actor’s names and roles (when given) exactly as they are in the credits and in exactly the same order credited."

You have already noted, correctly, that stunts are part of THIS cast and THAT fits the definition of Standard credits. Dealing with Jenna on her own, there is nothing in the Rules that says we can do that, Standard Credits are both defined and then CLARIFIED as to what they are and dealing with Jenna on her own does not meet those parameters. The ONLY exception is that we can make PARTIAL contributions, but that does not allow for a COMPLETE, per these Rules, Contribution which would include the Stunt personnel.

You sure about that? Here are the facts:

Gunner pointed out your opinion carries no more weight than any one elses. He also questioned your changing your position = not an attack
You told him to "grow a brain" = attack

Surfeur agreed with another users opinion = not an attack
You replied "here we go again"  = attack (albeit a small one)

Ace made a statement based on his knowledge and interpretation of the rules = not an attack
You told him he was "wrong AGAIN" and continued by saying he "pretends to know more than he does" = attack

Virus gave his opinion that voice credts are something we track and he would enter this one = not an attack
You told him he lacks the ability of comprehending what he is reading (and also directed that towards everyone else around here I guess) = attack

And then there was Sam, who was responding to your questioning his ability to read, and called you sweetcheeks. = Attack, but it was you who fired first.
You replied by ATTACKING HIS WHOLE COUNTRY!

So, to recap 5 people made statements of which only one can be considered an attack. You replied by putting down every single one of them.  Then, when I questioned it you said

Why Invelos lets this continue is unbelievable. It' real easy not to comment on moderator actions when there are no actions taken!!!!!!!!!! Any other forum continued behavior like Dr. Professor Magly's would have earned a permanent ban long ago.

I encourage everyone reading to use their .  Unfortunately it doesn't seem to have any lasting effect but it does make things nice for a couple days at a time.

As I said, all those two parts do is define the term 'Standard Film Credits'.  They do not say anything about an actor having to be in that section in order to be considered cast.

As for it being in the spirit of the rule, all I have to do is look at the section for 'non-standard film credits', which allows actors to be considered cast when standard film credits aren't present, to tell me that it is.

I know I came up with the inclusion of stunt people in the cast list, but my opinion has evolved since then.
No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever.
There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom.
Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand.
The Centauri learned this lesson once.
We will teach it to them again.
Though it take a thousand years, we will be free.

I watch Stargate for a couple hours and it all goes to hell. Here's my take:

The rules don't address featured stunts as cast one way or the other. I'd say this is debatable, but would lean toward including them. We include uncredited people with no lines if they appear on screen and we can identify them. I don't see why being credited for a stunt would take their credit away. It doesn't make sense.

People who are credited as doing a specific voice are definitely part of the cast. This isn't like additional voices where they're looping background chatter to make a bar sound crowded.

A stunt coordinator, since they do not appear on-screen or on the audio track, is not a member of the cast.

I wish that everyone would just stop this. Please - enough is enough.

If you can not politely express yourself and stick to the topic then keep your opinions to yourself.

Moderator the time to lock this thread passed long ago.
