Just wondering if I want to gift someone DVDP and they would be using it on an iPhone would the gifting feature still work through the website ?

Considering its an appStore thing for the iPhones....

You can gift an app from inside iTunes.  View the app and click on the arrow to the right of the "Buy App" button.
