Possible to add Collection List columns?

I realize I can add categories/tabs to the collection list, but what about columns. My movies are all on disc on my htpc and I'd much prefer to have custom fields such as "Container" (mkv, iso, etc), and "Video Format" (AVS, VC-1), show up as columns in whatever category I choose. Is this possible?

I really love this software - looks and performs way better than Movie Collector - but this one limitation is the only thing keeping me from purchasing a registration.

Perhaps you could use the "Location" and "Slot" fields for this information. Right click on a title in the Collection List and choose Personalize. At the bottom of the screen in the Discs section you'll see "Location" and "Slot". You could insert the "Container" type in the "Location" field and "Video Format" in the "Slot" field. You can then right click in your Collection List and select "View Columns" and check "Disc Location".

Thanks for the reply.

Sounds OK but I actually have many more columns I'd like to add. I'm curious why this functionality is left out as it seems to be fairly basic to me. Movie Collector, while being quite ugly and not very feature rich in other areas, does have this option. Guess I'll just have to hope it gets added to DVD Profiler at some point. Unless it's there and we just can't find it.

Rightclick on the collection list header and choose "Show Columns..."

In the now following listing you will find several additional columns (e.g. Mediatype, Disk-Location, etc.)
For your ripped data (mkv, iso, etc.) I suggest to use custom media types, this probably matches your needs best.

Regarding the VideoFormats: DVDProfiler currently isn't really good here. Hopefully we will see this with the next release.
In the meantime you may want to use "Tags".
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

Unfortunately no. There is no way to really add data-fields to a profile.

Possible workaround, as Silence already mentioned, would be to 'mis'-use some other field.

For Container and Video-Format it would be possible to use Tags. You couldn't show them as columns though, but you can filter on them.

Thanks for all the great replys everyone. And on Thanksgiving too! Well, doesn't look like DVDP has the functionality I need right now, and as I like to track many different aspects of the movies in my collection, looks like I'm stuck with Movie Collector for now, who is actually quite dyrong in this area. But I'll have my eye on DVDP and will be switching once the ability to add custon Movie List columns becomes available.

Thanks again.

Happy Turkey Day!

I have a plugin called SideCar with some un-released experimental code for keeping additional info associated with a DVDP profile, organized in a way that could be converted over when/if Invelos makes custom fields available.

But I have nobody to help me think about the user interface and test the results. Are you interested? If so, PM me and we can talk about it a bit.
Thanks for your support.
