| Posted: | | | | I would really like to hear from the developers. Goal: Sync from IOS (Ipad 3) to Windows 7.
First attempt: IOS tries to Sync but DVD profiler crashes on Windows 7 with Address Protection Exception (See New Users forum)
After reading around, there is some belief (mystical?) that some other software on windows my have modified something that causes DVD profiler to crash.
Second attempt: New Windows 7 VM running under parallels. Now when IOS tries to sync the IOS app crashes almost immediately although DVD profiler on Windows doesn't (success!) and some DVD's get transferred before IOS quits each time I try.
I mean, cmon guys, someone is having a laugh with this software? |

| Posted: | | | | I understand your frustration, but I find the conclusion in your finale sentance somewhat perplexing. A few people do have problems syncing, but lots of other people use the iOS app without any such problems. I personally use it without it ever crashing. I don't think anyone is "having a laugh".
The forum is not the best way to get answers from the developer. It is more of a user to user forum. Did you try opening a support ticket? | | | My freeware tools for DVD Profiler users. Gunnar |

| Posted: | | | | Well, it does seem that rather a lot of people are having similar problems and I have seen what look like answers from the development staff. Given the number of people with issues I would have thought there would be more attention given to these than there appears to be.
Now, the sorts of problem people are experiencing are severe. Protection exceptions should not happen with todays software. Indeed, they are so rare I have not seen them for years and have been in the software business a long time. If I was a developer and saw this happen with one of my programs I would be mortified.
On the other side, apps do crash, but nothing like as much as DVD profiler as other people have also reported.
I am only continuing to bother with this product because actually I like it. If only it would work. I am sure many people have tried, seen these problems and just dumped the product without comment. Again, if I was in charge of these products I would be very worried about losing customers.
Are you using the latest downloads for IOS and Windows? For me the crash is immediate. Sync, crash. Those in charge must have some idea about this. |

| Posted: | | | | Ah yes, i didnt answer your question about opening a ticket. Well, despite the fact I have paid for the app, I dont seem to be able to open a ticket unless I pay more for a "premium account". Not so friendly to paying customers from the iPad.
Now, if I go through the app on the ipad and request "DVD profiler for iOS support" guess where it takes me? Thats right ... right here ..... so this forum seems to be considered by the developers not just a user to user forum.
What am I missing? |

| Posted: | | | | I just read your other post where you said you entered "a few hundred". Unless something has changed recently, the free version of the PC program is limited to 50 titles. Perhaps your problem has something to do with that? | | | My freeware tools for DVD Profiler users. Gunnar |

Unlimited collection size is indeed included in the free version of the desktop program. Some (well, most) of the other features are limited to 50 titles. For a full list of the differences, this link might help: http://www.invelos.com/dvdpro/Registration.aspx This does not appear to be related to the OP's issue. | | | DVDProfiler 4.0.0 (build 1762) 3645 titles DVDProfiler on iPads and iPhones, and Android devices! The 50 title limitation is some of the features, but you can still enter an unlimited number and I believe Ken himself said you could use the free version to link to the IOS version. | | | Paul |
