I just got the movie American Breakdown, in one of the films the credits look like this.

and a few frames later looks like this

I would have to go a few frames at a time just to do the credits for this one segment.

What would you do? Leave it blank or take who knows how long to do the credits?

I'm just tempted to leave them blank for now.

The latter.
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

I think it just depends on how much work you want to go through.

The cast and crew is not required data (although preferred) for a profile.  I think you should make your decision on the time it will take versus your desire to put the data in.  It will take anyone a great deal of time to do it properly.

I probably would have to leave it go myself... but then I have bad eyes and have to struggle at times to seem normal credits.

However I would want to find out who is responsible for such a stupid idea and slap him upside the head.

I'd do the full credits, and won't be opposed to using imdb as a guide when like this. If most of the letters match for any particular role, it's probably correct (they have been better lately, but still some errors are there, probably on purpose). I've had to check with them for something that had hard to read font and except for saying 3 people who weren't in the film were, and missing 1 that was, the rest was spot on.

If you can do frame by frame (not all comp players do, but most stand alone will), it should only take a few minutes more than a standard audit would to get all the roles spelled correctly. You should be able to get all the letters in 2-3 frames. Add all the actors on screen first and fill in the letters for roles as trhey appear through the frame advances.

Well I went ahead and did it. Took me a good 30 minutes just to do that one films credits.

I checked IMDB and their listing for this short film is very incomplete.

I'd throw it away and forget I ever had it.
