Maybe this has been requested before, but... in short: I would like to be able to group my collection in list and thumbnail views based on search filters or tags. I made some mock-up pictures to show what I mean. For example, you could use a crew field to group movies based on director like in the picture below. And it would be nice to expand this to e.g. composers, cinematographers etc... with certain Crew-roles and especially with Cast this would bloat beyond being practical, so there could be a possibility to make a pre-defined list of specific crew-roles and/or cast names you would like to view this way.  You could also set the grouping to check for specific text strings in Title-/Original Title fields, as would be the case with "Masters of Sex" and "Boardwalk Empire" on example below. Or you could use your tags, as with "James Bond Films" here:  And this way of viewing could perhaps be accessed as an addition to category tabs(?), e.g. right click on that tab and a menu would appear where you could select your grouping option from your pre-defined list.  I hope this makes sense... something like this I would like to have with online collections as well. |
