Just finished update.  Started DVDprofiler with no issue.

Try a repair and see if that resolves

installed windows 10  and have had no problems with my  profiler  or invelos data ..
In the 60's, People took Acid to make the world Weird. Now the World is weird and People take Prozac to make it Normal.

Found time to upgrade to Windows 10 on Desktop and Laptop, DVD Profiler no issues at all.

Upgraded (I think we can call it that) to Windows 10 with my VirtualBox VM on my Mac. Worked seemingly well and DVD Profiler seems to work as before.

I went from Windows-XP to Windows 10.  I downloaded DVD Profiler , started installing it by entering my registration key which it recognized, but it never finishing loading.  I'm not even trying to restore my backed up database yet. 

If I kill it with Task Manger and restart it, the repair utility executes fast and tries to start DVD Profiler again, but then the same thing happens.  The background orange progress bar gets about 1/3 of the way across and freezes.

Anybody's program look funny after upgrading? Mine sort of looks lower resolution. The icons and text appear blurry. I currently have my collection set to view as thumbnails on the left pane and the thumbnails larger and less manageable than they used to. Also the scrollbar cuts off and I can't scroll to the very bottom of my collection.

While my upgrade to Windows 10 went fine (and even fixed a few issues that had arisen with my Windows 7 installation recently), I had major problems with DVD Profiler (and only with DVDP  ) after the upgrade.

Thanks to the outstanding support by Invelos Support, meanwhile all problems seem to have been fixed.

Just in case any fellow users are experiencing similar problems after the upgrade, I'll post here in detail which problems I had and how they were eventually solved.

First off, the program wouldn't start unless I disabled all plugins; it stalled at "Initializing plugins" and then gave me the option to continue in Diagnostic Startup. If I chose to start without plugins, usually the program would start.

Next, when it was finally started, the program prompted for a database repair. If I started that, it skipped several steps in the repair process. I was getting on-screen messages such as "DBISAM Engine Error #9218: Error writing to the table ... Thumbnails.DAT". Same with Collection.DAT, Actors.DAT, Produce.DAT. It was always these four specific DAT files.

After that, upon completion of the repair once the program restarted, I was getting a "DVD Profiler can't continue" message, leaving a program shutdown as my only option.

If I chose not to do a database repair after starting up without plugins, the program would load normally. However, once I tried to do a database update from the Invelos database, once the program started comparing, I was getting an error message saying "tblCollection: Cannot modify a read-only dataset". At which point I could only Cancel, after which the program froze on the compare process. Which left me with no alternative but to close the program manually - and back to square one.

I tried re-installing the program over the existing installation, but that did not accomplish anything.

So essentially the program could not be used after the upgrade.

Here's which steps eventually solved my problems  (NOTE: only follow these steps if you have a recent backup of your local database!!). I'll skip all steps that didn't resolve the issues at hand; this list will describe the shortest route to fix the issues I was experiencing:
1) Uninstall DVDP.
2) If there are any remnants of earlier plugin installations on your hard drive, delete them.
3) Re-install the program without any plugins.
4) Create a new, empty database.
5) While being on that new empty database, verify that the program shuts down and starts up again without errors.
6) Restore the recent backup file of your local database into the empty database.

For me, these were the deciding steps in fixing my problems (with, again, many thanks to Invelos Support!  ).

If this post is helpful to others with issues after the upgrade, it will have served its purpose.

Thank you dee1959jayy!  Those were exactly the kinds of problems I was having.  Your advice worked for me perfectly.  I even did a complete uninstall with Revo Uninstaller which even cleared related entries from the registry, then followed your instructions.

I had the same issue you had and resolved it by running as admin. However, I still had other issues which support tried to help me with...did not happen. I followed your instructions for reinstall and ta dah...all is right with the world.
