I've searched the forums and can't quite find the answer to my question. How do I manually add a DVD to my collection? I've got a couple of Blu-Ray DVDs that I need to add (I can't use the "by inserted disc" method since I don't have a Blu-Ray drive on my computer).
I've tried to figure it out without success. Oh, btw, I have added a DVD from the "by inserted disc" option for non-Blu-Ray discs.
I have an unpaid account if that makes a difference.

Then just uncheck "Download profile from Invelos" in the lower left corner of the "Add DVDs to Collection" window. The "Manual entry" window should appear to enter the title.
If you no longer have the case/UPC, just enter it by the Title and it will be added into your collection as a Manual entry. It will only be valid within your personal local database. | | | | Corey | | | | Last edited: by Katatonia |

| | Posted: | | | | Hello, I am a longtime user of DVDProfiler and have noticed more titles missing from the database than I ever noticed before. For example IFC films, Sundance, etc. Movies on DVD that I can only find the Blu-ray in the system? Do other people notice this as well?
For film titles that are not in the system, would it be possible to make it easier to add just basic info for them into the system? |

Do you mean titles are only receiving a Blu-ray release or a lack of entries in the DVD Profiler database? If it's the latter, then there has been a slow, but steady decline in profile contributions over the past decade; some regions are impacted more than others. |

I wish there was a way to apply a profile of the bluray onto a new dvd, and copy all the info over.
Dvds are less popular than they were 5-10 years ago so I am sure that is part of it. How can dvdprofiler adapt to this reality when profiles are missing is the basis of my question. |

The user can make the adaptation by using the various features of DVDP and associated plugins and utilities. For example: - there is the ability to copy and paste profile information built in - there is the ability to create a "blank" profile built in (add by Title, don't download) - there is the ability to change the locality of a profile or create alternate versions of it - there is the ability to export profile data built-in and via plugins (CSV Export) - there is the ability to re-import profile data to create a new profile or update an old one (BulkEdit) - there are utilities for cloning profiles and cast / crew data (see DJ Doena tools) And probably more ... You can do anything you want, so long as you "keep it to yourself," but if you would like to contribute the results of your efforts (which would be appreciated) to the online database, then you must follow the "Contribution Rules" carefully. They are designed protect the quality, integrity and proper legal status of the Invelos database. | | | Thanks for your support.

| | Posted: | | | | If the blu-ray is in the system, it is not so hard to create a DVD profile from that. First download the blu-ray profile, then go to DVD / Change UPC and enter the DVD's UPC. Now make all necessary changes to the blu-ray profile to match the DVD (cover scans, Overview, audio tracks, subtitles, release date, SRP etc.) and you got yourself a nice new DVD profile.  What's more: if you have followed the contribution rules, you can contribute it to the central database as well!  |
