01/19/2017 - Hidden Figures: Based on a true story. Little known aspect of American History. I enjoyed it. 02/05/2017 - Manchester By the Sea: Screenplay, acting and cinematography right up there with the "big boys." Quite an achievement for Amazon to come out of the box with an Indie film that gets nominated for movie awards. This will be the future I guess, when they are able to add the latest in digital video and audio effects. A wonderful story, but the production still comes off as "watching a DVD on a big screen." 06/18/2017 - Wonder Woman: Absolutely loved this. Used to read all the DC comics every week. I like the modern interpretation of strong, smart, powerful woman, even though a fantasy context. 12/22/2017 - Start Wars: The Last Jedi. Wow. Saw in a good theater in SFO. Awesome sound.
(Lagging way behind in theater visits. I don't think I want to spend the money on all of buying tickets, collecting discs and also upgrading my Home Theater. These days, I'm leaning towards collecting the 4K UHD releases and watching at home, especially since I am increasingly annoyed by rude patrons and intrusive theater staff with flashlights checking for piracy. ) | | | Thanks for your support.
