Received a no vote to some contributions I made for some profiles of Army of Darkness (it's all good, the no vote was very polite, simply asking a question and wasn't negative in anyway  ). I currently own 5 profiles for this film altogether, and wanted to update those before sharing the updates with other profiles (the profiles and CLT for this film are disastrous with so much IMDB mined information, missing original titles, wrong original titles, incorrect production years etc. etc.) but before I do, wanted to see if it was possible to clear up this question.

Should Danny Elfman for the credit below be credited as Songwriter or Theme By?

It is original to the film, so there's no question that is should be entered, just the question of how it should be entered came up.

I currently have it entered as "Theme By" as the contribution rules simply state "Theme By" in the crew chart, and that's the credit onscreen. The question in the no votes was "Shouldn't the credit for Danny Elfman be "Song writer" since he only wrote the one song, and it's not the main theme of the film?"

Does the fact it's not the main theme for the film matter here?

Thoughts? Opinions?

(And a quick note... I've been over all the of the credits for all various versions and cuts of the film... Theatrical, Director's, International & Television cut... and the only credits that differ between the versions are the ones presented on the Television cut... mostly in the way they're presented, but the crew in that version end up being exactly the same as the other versions even though they're presented differently, the only difference comes in the cast section when the credits of #1 and #2 on a few different character names are presented as No. 1 and No. 2 instead, so the above credit is the same across the board, no matter which version we're referring to).
The night is calling. And it whispers to me soflty come and play.

Theme by, as credited.
No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever.
There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom.
Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand.
The Centauri learned this lesson once.
We will teach it to them again.
Though it take a thousand years, we will be free.

Theme by, unfortunatly, since the rule doesn't explain the intent but only the wording Theme by.
Complete list of Common Names  •  A good point for starting with Headshots (and v11.1)
