Correcting a typo when the contribution system doesn't recognize the difference. |

| Posted: | | | | The Best Buy Steelbook of Salem's Lot (UPC 883929-648481) is spelled "Salem'S Lot," with the second S mistakenly capitalized. I tried to submit the profile to correct the typo, but the contribution system seems to see "Salem's Lot" and "Salem'S Lot" as identical.
Is there any way to flag the typo in the title so someone can correct it? |

| Posted: | | | | There was a lot of discussion regarding the capitalization of a film's "Title" and invelos' made a decision on how to contribute that data.
They added it to the rules found here: http://invelos.com/dvdpro/contributions/Rules.aspx?display=titles
And, the Capitalization Tool is here: http://invelos.com/dvdpro/contributions/Rules.aspx?display=titles
All you do is type the Title into the Tool and it will automatically change it to how it is to be entered. | | | Last edited: by Kathy |

| Posted: | | | | That wasn't really my question.
This particular edition is already IN the database with an incorrectly capitalized title. The contribution system doesn't see a difference between "Salem'S Lot" and "Salem's Lot," so it doesn't let me contribute a change.
And, BTW, if you enter "Salem'S Lot" into the Capitalization Tool, it returns... "Salem'S Lot," so the capitalization tool appears to have a blind spot for this particular error.
My question is, how does one alert the administrators to correct this typo? More relevant, why doesn't the system recognize the difference between "Salem'S Lot" and "Salem's Lot?" |

| Posted: | | | | Wow that is weird. I know that the system doesn't recognize capitalization differences in names but I thought it did with titles.
The only way I know alerting the administrators is to send a message via "support" and send a "support ticket".
I'm afraid invelos' has not been very good with answering the tickets though so maybe another community member can help you. |

| Posted: | | | | I've fixed it for you - I've submitted a contribution changing this to 'Salem's Lot'. There's nothing strange going on here, except the profile used the wrong kind of apostrophe. Invelos's title capitalization filter only works with the ' but not with ’ - and it's the latter character that was used in the title of that profile. Once you correct that to the normal apostrophe, it all works as it should. |

Isn't the fact that you actually made a change that wasn't just capitalization the reason that the contribution could be made, rather that it being the wrong apostrophy? | | | My freeware tools for DVD Profiler users.
