| Posted: | | | | Yep, both points are much appreciated.
Nothing worse than making a new post only to realize you made an embarassing blunder in the title. And with the new threads locked, it makes it more meaningful when we see the Announcement forum light up with a new post. Well, except for that other thread.
-edit- Oh! Just noticed that now all of the Announcement threads are locked. | Posted: | | | | Yay! Restrict announcements to announcements only! Now we won't have to wade through pages of comments to get back to what the original announcement was. Much cleaner. Also, Yay to being able to edit subject. It's nice to be able finally to correct embarrassing typos. | | | Another Ken (not Ken Cole) Badges? We ain't got no badges. We don't need no badges. | Posted: | | | | In PM thanked Ken for the locking of the posts in announcements. I also pointed out that the discussion showed how passionate the users of DVDProfiler are, and he should take that as a compliment.

I never had a problem seeing Ken's original announcement, because it was the very first post of every thread in the announcement forum. So, personally, I don't like the locked announcements, especially if the discussion related to an announcement is moved into the General forum, where it is already difficult enough to find anything. | | | Matthias |

| Posted: | | | | Yes but Ken often posts in the middle of a thread, unless you're constantly watching the thread this info can pass you by.
I agree about the discussion being in the general area though (although dont forget Ken didnt create this thread) maybe Ken could create an sub-section in the announcements area for discussions, then either create a new thread in there when he creates a new anouncement or just leave it to the users to create one when they have something to say. And of course have a rule about only creating threads relating to an announcement. |

| Posted: | | | | Well, I never minded those discussions in the Announcement threads. Like goodguy, I knew the announcement is on the first page. Ken's posts in the middle are usually responses to the discussion, so if the discussion is now elsewhere, so will such posts.
Editing the thread topic is a great enhancement!
...and there is a new forum section too: Website Discussion So I guess from now on those site related things no longer clog up the feature request section. | | | Achim [諾亞信; Ya-Shin//Nuo], a German in Taiwan. Registered: May 29, 2000 (at InterVocative) |
