| Posted: | | | | It is highly likely, though, that Harry Carey, Jr. will, at some point in the future, turn out to be the most-credited form, in which case the comma-less name variant would only need to be in the "credited as" field. As of yet, the "credit lookup" tool results declare the IMDb-formatted comma-less name variant as the winner, as it does for each and every Jr./Sr. suffix. That is, however, not based on actual credits: we're probably just propagating IMDb's "stylistic choice" here. So what you put in the "name" field right now is debatable by my standards, but Skip is certainly right in that at the very least the "credited as" field for this 'Tombstone' credit should contain the comma-less variant as it appears on-screen. But although I'd personally rather anticipate and use Harry Carey, Jr. as the "name" (or better yet: make that the standard DVD Profiler formatting for all names with suffixes), just entering this "as credited" would be correct given the current lookup tool results. | | | Last edited: by T!M |

I will add that I am shocked at the number of "informed" and argumentative user voting yes to a clear Rule violation.
Perhaps this is because the notes say "Adding a comma to Harry Carey, Jr. as it appears in the credits.". Most of the "informed" users are willing to take people at their word when they make a statement like that, especially since it comes from someone who frequently submits good information as in this case. For you to claim these yes voters are knowingly "voting yes to a clear Rule violation" is unfair to these voters IMO. If these same users vote yes to someone who says "cast from imdb" then you have a valid point but that is not the case here. The submission as it is submitted looks 100% valid and it is I too would have taken it on face value. With that said I do agree it is submitted incorrectly, based on your screenshot. I'm also not surprised you got a negative vote for this. Many people have expressed their opinion that these types of posts should be private communication between you and the submitter. Or simply vote as you see fit and let it go from there with no need to drag it into the forum. My guess it was one of those who zapped you with the red pill. For the record it wasn't me. I only give you red zingers when you truly deserve it. |

I'm interested in his explanation before changing my vote. (Different credits from Skip's? ) | | | ...James

I'm confused. I'm seeing YOUR contribution for Tombstone with a comma in the credit. Why would you do that then post here that your contribution is incorrect? | Posted: | | | | Woah ,woah...before we all get our panties in a bunch, it would seem I need to go back and recheck. I was going through my personal database last weekend and working on Harry Carey and all the subsequent variants. I did actually pull out all the disks and make changes accordingly. Since I had a pile in front of me, it is certainly possible that I could have oopsied on one of them. If so, I apologize. Either way, I will be happy to go back this evening and double check. Right now where I am, Skip's screenshot is blocked to me but I presume it's fairly conclusive. Regardless, I want to go back and verify because it's not an error I typically make.

My aim was not at you, BTW, just so you know. I have confidence in you and know that you want accuracy as much as I do. My issue was with the people that were blindly following, even after I posted the screen shot, the list of users was rather shocking to me, particularly in view ff the attitudes some of them bring here. One such user, who shall remain nameless, even in view of direct evidence was STILL not willing to vote No, but only changed to neutral, and i am to respect that. I think not.

If you will be so kind as to excuse me, I think I have damn good reason to be, as you put it, snippy. I am fed up with attitude of several users around here. But thank you for your concern.
You want more and better from me, then show me.

Skip Gotcha. Figured it was something simple. I'll recheck the submission. Thanks. | | | Build a man a fire and you keep him warm for a day. Set a man on fire and you keep him warm the rest of his life. |

Pedro Armendáriz Jr.: 142/323 Pedro Armendariz Jr.: 18/25 Pedro Armendariz, Jr.: 13/24 Pedro Armendáriz, Jr.: 7/7 Jim: My notes mean precisely what they say...STRICTLY As Credited. With the perpetual abuse that I get from many users, explain to me why I would be interested in investing MORE of my time than I already do to provide them with data for Aliases. They aren't worrth IT. Sorry guys, that is my view. 2-4 hours to build a profile from scratch is alkl i am willing to give you, I am NOT willing to provide anymore of more time...gratis, just to be abused, insulted, disrespected, baited and what have you. Now if you will excuse me, I am off to build a profile for a classic I never thought would to DVD, EL CID, if anyone is interested I will be happy report impressions of the restoration.
