| Posted: | | | | I am seeing a lot of contributions removing digital copy from the disc info section with the notes saying... Quote: Per rules, digital copy not listed with disc info. While I may not personally agree with the digital copy being there... I don't see where the rules forbid it/tell us to remove it. I want to be sure... so I am asking here... am I missing this rule somewhere? | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | couldn't find anything per rules. But does a digital download belong in the disc discriptions. It's in the features sections, which seems sufficient. |

| Posted: | | | | It is not digital DOWNLOADS.... the digital copies is on their own disc. I have many like this... so with it being there... it is accurately showing the discs in the set.
Plus yes... I have a problem with someone lying in their notes (if that is the case). | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | I can't find anything either.
But can the Disc ID's be read on these digital copy only discs?
If not and the disc id is blank, that maybe their justification since the only thing entered is a description.
From the rules section regarding Disc IDs it appears that the rules assumes that a disc id can be read and entered. |

| Posted: | | | | The rules say to add the disc information using a DVD-ROM drive. These were not entered that way, so I can see where they are coming from saying the removal is per the rules. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. But many of these removals were added using a drive, and are read by the program: I originally voted yes to these, thinking I had seen it described as such in the rules...but I can find nothing in the rules either. So I don't understand where exactly this contributor is seeing this in the rules.. | | | Corey | | | Last edited: by Katatonia |

| Posted: | | | | Looking at these, the ones up for removal are mostly contain blank disc id's for the digital copy.
The first one that shows up for my voting that has a disc id for the digital copy is Dark City.
If the digital copy does have a disc id, then I don't think they should be removed. |

| Posted: | | | | I agree. If the Digital Copy is on a disc with a readable Disc ID they should be included and have no need to be removed. | | | Last edited: by GreyHulk |

| Posted: | | | | Hello everyone, I am the one submitting the removal of the digital copy discs. The reasoning I am referencing is from the What to Contribute section. I don't see digital copy discs listed here. If I am missing something, please let me know, and I would be happy to withdraw.
What to Contribute
Contribute only the following items to the main database:
"DVD Video, HD-DVD Video, and Blu-ray Video" discs (including MiniDVD): These discs contain movies, television shows, music performances and other professionally-produced and sold DVDs. No CDs, DVD-Audio discs, video games, Video CDs, or VHS titles will be accepted. “DVD Video”: These discs, included as bonus discs with CDs or video games are accepted, but only contribute the DVD Video information. Dual-Disc DVDs (which store both “DVD Video” and “DVD Audio” information): These can be contributed, but include “DVD Video” information only. |

| Posted: | | | | My initial thought was this data should be removed since that information should already be found in the Features section.
Katatonia and GreyHulk comments give me reason to question that thought.
If we include the data for Digital Copies that can be read, do we also include the Copies for data that can not?
Personally, I don't want to see blank data in any field. It doesn't make sense to include unreadable Digital Copies.
So, for me, the question then is should we treat these differently? |

| Posted: | | | | All the digital downloads I've had, have been per code. If I had a disc for them, I would probably want to contribute the disc id's.
Going by Penthouse's reasoning, does the absent of Digital in the what to contribute mean it's not contributed. or does the absent of it in the what not to contribute means it should be contributed.

| Posted: | | | | If the disc is not recognizable by your Blu-ray/DVD drive (as it pertains to DVDProfiler), then I don't think it should be added to the disc list. It's already covered under Features & Formats. | | | Marty - Registered July 10, 2004, User since 2002. |

| Posted: | | | | A digitial copy is a valid bonus feature, so should't get a disc with a digital copy get an entry within the disc info under the term bonus materials? What's the difference between a disc with making of, etc. and a disc with a digital copy on it? Both are valid bonus features as per rules. | | | Think different

| Posted: | | | | The rules state:
Digital Copy: An additional digital copy of the main feature included on one or more discs in the package, or activated via download through a key included in the package. Include Windows Media and Apple iTunes content as well as digital copies intended for mobile devices.
I think this describes where we are to list "Digital Copies" | | | Marty - Registered July 10, 2004, User since 2002. |
