| Posted: | | | | Thanks, time to do some downloading again! I tried making the screencaps myself, and the most difficult thing for me seems to be limiting the number of screenshots to some reasonable figure... I picked a movie that is not in your online collection ("Adam Had Four Sons"), and ended up having almost a hundred pics in its gallery... too time consuming, I must be more selective with the captures... When I continue with other films, I've decided to include caps of title screen and end-screen (if present). it's nice when your gallery is not in autoplay setting, and you can see the title screen next to the cover - at least with older movies. | | | Mika I hate people who love me, and they hate me. | Posted: | | | | Now this looks promising indeed! (and understandable to say the least)... Very nice work, Yves - and I imagine putting it in English wasn't so hard after all? Again - thanks alot for the effort! | | | Berak

In addition to grabbing the appropriate screenshots from surfeur51's site (my preference), I've been grabbing screenshots from DVD Beaver, and it's got me thinking. There are two things I would have changed to improve DVD Profiler's gallery: 1) Ability to set a background colour (which I may have missed) 2) Ability to set an image as "play on first loop only" or some such thing. Most (if not all) DVD Beaver reviews I've looked at that have screenshots include a shot of the movie title from the opening. It would be nice to have those title cards show when the gallery is idle, but have them left out of the slideshow. | | | Adelaide Movie Buffs (info on special screenings, contests, bargains, etc. relevant to Adelaideans... and contests/bargains for other Aussies too!) |

You can already do that. You have to display the little thumbnails in the window, then you right click on the background of those thumbnails. | | | Images from movies |

And for me to go on with uploading. I want to thank all those who took some of their time to see what I had to propose on the yahoo group, and who encouraged me to go on and improve the site. I was near to give up after acid comments about "my arrogance beyond belief", but nice words of many users helped me to ignore nastiness. Now things are on rails and I hope to finish to upload my collection before end of year. | | | Images from movies |

Now things are on rails and I hope to finish to upload my collection before end of year. Well, it seems you got many "converts" here At least I'm hooked... I have found gallery to be an excellent feature to use. I even downloaded a program to automate the creation of screencaps: Frame-shots. The program is quite buggy in my Vista (freezes whenever trying to open DVD instead of single .vob-file), but with that you can e.g. make it deliver original-sized frame captures every n seconds. When it has finished, I just go through the images it made, and keep the ones I want. I can also go and select the specific frames I want, if I feel that some important scene is omitted - and I also capture the opening title screen (and "the end"-screen) manually - my peculiar interest Your generosity is very much appreciated by most of us here, and despised by those who think they were spending too much time with this darned program even without it | | | Mika I hate people who love me, and they hate me. I used to use that site quite often years ago, but had forgotten all about it. Indeed, now that I checked, there are plenty of title frame captures there up for grabs. | | | Mika I hate people who love me, and they hate me. (Bender Bending Rodriguez) |

Just a little heads-up: Norton Internet Security tells me that the website you're using poses a potential risk. Might be worth to check out their full report here: http://safeweb.norton.com/report/show?url=cfun.fr That report suggests that two subdomains of the same host are hosting nasties. I suspect it would be true for many hosts, but I thank you for sharing with us all. It allows us to all make an informed decision. | | | Adelaide Movie Buffs (info on special screenings, contests, bargains, etc. relevant to Adelaideans... and contests/bargains for other Aussies too!) |

I used to be able to get the thumbnails, but not anymore. I will keep trying. | | | Adelaide Movie Buffs (info on special screenings, contests, bargains, etc. relevant to Adelaideans... and contests/bargains for other Aussies too!) |
