Fair enough. I don't have to have the same opinion to accept the majority.

That is obvious: input impedance.

But just like poor DJ Doena, you are viewless.

what does Input impedance have to do with this??

and what does viewless mean in this context - are you implying that he is blind?

You first, Language or Music Only?

I take this to mean you have no explanation for your nonsense remark and are now trying (and failing) to divert attention by somehow putting this back to me to engage in a different discussion, hoping that I would forget what I was asking.

I'd have to be very stupid to fall for that one.

Answer my question(s). Or don't - which is also an answer.

So why can't a movie that has just one scene with dialog be "Music only"?

Because it had dialogue, even you put the emphasis on the word only...

"Only" means

. without others or anything further; alone; solely; exclusively
. no more than; merely; just

In that case there is something more than a musical score, so it can't be music only... Someone had to be thickheaded to not understand that.

To be fair, the color/B&W rule muddies the waters.  I can see how some may think it, but like I said before I think it is pretty straightforward why the languages should be listed.

The B/W and Colour vs. Music Only and Language comparison is not fair.

If a movie is marked as B/W but has one scene with a red rose in it that doesn't hinder my enjoyment of the film, even if I'm totally colour-blind.

On the other hand, if I'm Italian and don't speak English or German but decide to buy the German DVD because hey, it's Music Only, right? Then I would have no chance to understand that single scene where they speak after all.

I already wrote (second post of this thread), that it is not a "music only" track. But I think the comparison with B&W is fair.

Here are the dialogues, in English in original version (though it is a French movie)

We are at the end of the movie, and the silent actor George Valentin is playing in his first non silent movie in Hollywood studios:
Director: Cut !
Producer: Perfect ! Wonderful ! Can we have just one more ? (or something like that, the accent is not so clear for French ears)
Valentin: With pleasure.

Really, seeing images, everybody can understand everything.

About B&W, if we look at Casino Royale, the pregeneric scene is in B&W and shows the mission where James Bond got is 00 status (licence to kill). It lasts several minutes, but not enough  to be considered mixed following Invelos rules. This B&W limit is as stupid as a "music only" track would be.

Don't know if you've seen the movie, but do you really think that someone cannot enjoy The Artist because he doesn't understand the last scene in this film? I seriously doubt that!

What does that have to do with anything... Does that mean that because I didn't enjoy Batman Begin I can set it as a music only movie....

Sorry but the fact of tying enjoyment and "type of soundtrack" is one of the dumbest thing I've read here and believe me I've read a lot of them since I use DVDP.

edit :
At least one user is able to do one plus one equals two and cast a "no" vote with a logical explanation... I must say that I'm surprise to see that bbbbb didn't vote as that seems important enough for him to bring that here...

That was an answer to DJ Doena's post. Please read all of it before you call my answer dumb. Of course the enjoyment has nothing to do with the type of soundtrack. And if you read carefully you'll see that I actually never said that.

Maybe he is or maybe he isn't, but bbbbb I really want to know why you haven't vote on the profile if the matter was so important to you that you needed to bring it here in public?

Try to give a real answer please and not some weird incomprehensible one liner....

I am sorry, but it doesn't.  The 'Mixed' rule deals with color, which has nothing to do with audio.  As has already been pointed out, 'Music Only' means exactly that...only music and no dialogue.  I don't see how it can be read any other way.

Invelos has decided: the audio tracks of The Artist are Music Only.

A sad day.
