He may have convinced you. But he is wrong. He is applying his interprettation. His statement isopinion not factual.

No, it is YOU that is wrong. As James has (very eloquently) shown, YOU are applying your interpretation. Your statement, as so very often lately, is opinion, not factual.

I would appeal to use common sense, except that common sense is not all that common.

How cast names and their roles are placed is immaterial to their meaning, they may be upside down for all I care.

Imagine how silly this would get if we had the ability to enter names/roles in color.

Oh, c'mon. That would be easy. There are numerous color pickers out there that can aid one in finding the true hex color codes from an image. You'd just need a screenshot from the film credits and a freeware color picker and you're good to go.

Yeah, but how'd we agree as to which pixel to use?

Surely we'd divine that from some impossibly narrow interpretation of the rules.  I feel confident it is buried in there somewhere.

For sure. The word "exactly" is at the top of many slippery slopes.

Exactly has a very specific meaning and your interpretation of Credited As is way OFF BASE.

My interpretation of "Use the 'Credited As' field where the person's name differs from the credited name." is that the "Credited As" should contain a name. Seems pretty straight forward.

There is NOTHING that leads to that conclusion, James. The Rules still clearly delineate how we list credits, exactly as they appear, there is NO WHERE that allows to you or any other user to make sucha judgement. In fact were vthat true, it would exceedingly destructive to the rules.

The problem I see with your interpretation is that in this case "Himself" is, in fact, the name by which he is credited.  I realize that this will make the CLT even more unreliable, but I don't agree that your interpretation is correct.  What seems "pretty straight forward" to me is that the intent of the "Credited As" field is to show exactly what is on screen -- and "Himself" is what is on screen here.

I think the Rule should be clarified by Ken.  Otherwise it's going to be another case of dueling interpretations.

<Gulp> I hate to say this but the problem this causes with the CLT is because of the Priority(Common) Name. I will say no more.<gulp> I will however keep my fingers crossed.
