| | Posted: | | | | I have a suggestion regarding SRP.
Keep the SRP, but add the following.
1. Call SRP "Original SRP"
2. Add new SRP Entry called "Current SRP"
So for every DVD you would have the Original SRP for when the DVD was first released, and then it would also have what the DVD's current SRP is.
This would help cover all of the DVD's that are lowered in SRP over their release period.
Of course the UPC# has to be the same and documentation has to be provided to prove a current SRP.
Does anybody think this would be a good idea or not? |

There are several titles that changed their SRP after the currency change and since then dropped significantly several times.

Who determines what SRP is?? Walmart? Columbia House? Tower records.?
When a DVD is released should I go the manuufacturer's site to look up what they are willing to sell you the DVD for via the internet?

For example Warner may give a title an SRP of 28.99, without any kind of press release
Depending on their policies (which I do not know) you might see
Best Buy 28.97
Wal-Mart 28.92
DVDEmpire 28.95
DVDPlanet 28.94
These are for all intents and purposes the same prices so the question is basically moot.

Skip Plus, standard practice at WalMart is to mark $24.99 stuff down to $19.97 for the regular shelf price, and often down to $16-$17 (or lower) for the first week it goes on sale. Best Buy does similar, and so does Amazon. Virtually impossible to track all that stuff. | | | John
