If have said this for years and will continue to do so: All these problems could easily be fixed if we had cast and crew entries per movie, not per DVD release. All profiles for a movie should simply link to the same set of credits. Then creating a profile would be much less work, cast and crew data would almost always be correct and crosslinking would really make sense.

That would work too. Thats maybe easier than rulechange. just add the fields and revrite the rules to fit both fields.

I was responding to a user who said that in the absence of rules, the database would become full of errors. I was just pointing out that the database is already full of errors in spite of the existence of the rules. That's not a reason to have no rules, however.
