| | Posted: | | | | The compression algorythm used when uploading images for contribution generates very disappointing results, especially in the red department. I was hoping to submit the image on the left as I think it more closely represents the colors of the actual DVD cover but the compression totally changed the quality of the image. Notice the distinct loss of detail, especially in the hair and the mottling on Jennifer's forehead and left cheek. The image size was 500x691 @ 197KB at the time of upload so there should have been no compression by Invelos, right? In other words, if you scan at 300, 800 or what ever send like and let Invelos compress it.
That way your scan is only compressed once.
It still isn't perfect, just better.
I tested by sending the same image scan on digipak TV series were the slip case is used for
parent and child profiles. I sent from the same scan a full scan on one profile and a reduce
scan (500x700) on one of child profiles and compared the differences when they came back. | | | We don't need stinkin' IMDB's errors, we make our own.

You were absolutely right. I was over the limit. I reduced the image quality...closest I could get without going over was 189KB. After upload, the reds are just as they should be  .
