So, Skip.

If the next title in the series is "Step Up 3-D"

Are you going to insist on entering that as 'Step Up 3: -D'?

Inquiring minds want to know.

The movie we are talking about in this thread is Step Up 2: The Streets.
Step Up 3 is not even in production Yet and depending on how it is release it might be done the same way as Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over

Looking at the title objectively, it seems clear that the filmmakers wanted to be indicate that this was a sequel by including "2" in the title, but at the same time they used "2" as a  substitute for the word "to" so that when you say the title, you say "Step Up to the Street"; you don't say "Step Up 2.......pause......The Street"; therefore "The Street" is not an episode descriptor.

Looking at it 'objectively', I came to a different conclusion.  And for the record, I DO say "Step Up 2.......pause......The Street".
No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever.
There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom.
Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand.
The Centauri learned this lesson once.
We will teach it to them again.
Though it take a thousand years, we will be free.

I don't own this, but when I just walked past my local DVD store, I happened to spot this movie on the shelves. Obviously, I couldn't help checking it out for a second. As a result, I can now tell you that the Dutch DVD-release of this film has 'Step Up 2' on the cover, and 'Step Up 2 The Streets' in the copyright notice. Take from it what you want...
