| Posted: | | | | I'm working on the credits for "The Inspector General" and have a question regarding the music credits. Here are the credits in the film: Music and Lyrics by The Associate Producer Sylvia Fine Here I credited her as Composer because of the "Music by" portion of the credit and should I also credit her with Song Writer? Musical Direction and Incidental Score by Johnny Green This one confuses me . What's an Incidental Score? Should he get a music credit? | | | My WebGenDVD online Collection |

| Posted: | | | | If i were doing the profile i'd have credited her as a Songwriter (under the assumption the Music and Lyrics went together) instead of Composer.
I'd have left Green off. He probably wrote some small pieces to fill gaps but not enough for anyone to feel he deserved a more significant credit. | | | Bad movie? You're soaking in it! |

As for Johnny Green: I'm in doubt. I can certainly agree with tweeter's take on this, but I'd really have to watch 'The Inspector General' to get an idea of how "incidental" this "incidental score" really is... |

| Posted: | | | | Since the film is a musical comedy, the music and lyrics would go together I suppose and the Incidental score would probably be the filler between songs. Sound about right? | | | My WebGenDVD online Collection |

| Posted: | | | | Well, that settled my doubts: "song writer" for Fine and "composer" for Green. |
