| Posted: | | | | Hello,
Is it possible to use the same database of DVD Profiler for multiple Windows Users? Unfortunately, the search option didn't help me out.

The most common variant would be to allow the remote access to the database and point the other DVDProfiler installations to this database via "File -> Open database -> New..." This is the easiest way to open the same database on several computers Pro: Easy Con: You can only edit the database from one computer at a time
Other variant: Copy your database to a fileserver within the network (usually a NAS). This will be a bit more complicated and requires a Network attached HDD, still it doesn't allow changes on multiple computers.
Third variant: Use a Sync-Tool to synchronize the databases. Depending on the capabilities of the tool this finally allows you to make changes on all computers in the network. If you have Win7 installed on your machines you wouldn't even have to buy a Sync-Tool, because it's already integrated. | | | It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up! But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

Normally your database is stored under <my documents>\DVD Profiler\Databases\Default. Move that folder to a location that is acessible by every user on the PC. Then logon with the users and choose File->Open Database->Browse | | | Karsten DVD Collectors Online

FreeFileSync does a great job and is open source. It works for Win2k, XP, XP64, Vista, Win7, Linux and is also available for the PortableApps system. | | | Last edited: by SpaceFreakMicha |

| Posted: | | | | Hello and thank you very much for your ideas.
I decided to pick the first and easyiest alternative because on the other Windows user account (yes, they are all on the same machine) no changes are made at all to the database.
Thanks again!
