Depends if the internal space gives you a drive letter or not and or how its see's the storage as a media device.

My phone, its a non issues ( Evo 4G 2.2 )

Try it and see what happens, if you have issues we can get you sorted out fairly easy.

Thanks for the info!
I will certainly try it.

Are there any issues to expect with Android 2.3 ?
I believe that's the version in my smartphone.
Thanks again...

I have a Samsung Galaxy Note with Gingerbread (2.3) too.
You just connect the phone to your PC via USB-cable with "USB-Debugging" switched OFF, i.e. you connect it as a harddisk.
Your PC will then assign 2 driveletters for your phone, let's say drives e:\ and drive f:\ whereas the lower letter is for the sdcard of the phone and the higher letter is for the external USB-storage-card of your phone (should you have any).
Then on the PC you chose the Menu "PlugIns" from within DVD-Profiler, and there you chose "Droid DVDP Exporter, Version Beta 0.4
Inside the dialog of the PlugIn you chose:
Export: Full collection
and under
Device you chose "Use Removeable Disk.
To the right of this option you should see the path to the folder on your device, in your case that would be
e:\droid_dvdp
If you don't see that path, you can navigate to the folder on your device using the button with the "..." in it.
Normally the path should read
e:\droid_dvdp
because that is the folder where the subfolder for the database sits and where also the file "droid_dvdp_is_here" is located.
If you then press "Export Collection, you should be fine.
Please note that depending on the size of your collection the export may take some minutes.

Hello Guys,

Don't panic, I'm still alive, but I had not too much time for this the previous weeks.

End of next week, there should be a new version with some fixes and a filter on the dvd's genres.

By the way, there aren't so much downloads (on fileserve) : only 59 for the plugin and 96 for the android program. I have no stats on the sky drive, maybe I'll remove this download later.

Thanx for reading.

Olivier,
I have just checked and tried to access the PlugIn download from fileserve, but this ends with "file not available"
Also I would have to submit a login and Password (which I don't have).
So the only place from where to get the PlugIn is SkyDrive.
Maybe that's an explanation why there are so little downloads from fileserve.

I have also noted that after downloading from SkyDrive, one needs to rename the file to "setup b0.4.exe" as after the download it is just named
setup b0.4.[1] and the extension is not "exe", so it is not an executable.
Not a big deal, but newbies could be puzzled!?

One additional question from my side:
I have today added 15 DVD's to my DVD-Profiler on the PC (Desktop).
Is it right that I then have to again export the FULL DVD-collection?
I have tried and marked only the 15 additions in DVD-Profiler, but after the export, all the previous DVD's were gone from the Android device and only the 15 new ones were in the collection.
So no way to add only selected records to an existing collection?
I mean it's not a big thing, just that it takes a little long to always export the full collection!

Thanks,
Tom

Hi Tom.
This takes some setting up, however, once set up, you can add only those DVD/blu-ray titles that are new.  I also use this to eliminate child profiles for TV series.

IN DVD Profiler go to Collection>Flags>Show Flag Indicators
Now comes the long, tedious part: you check everything you want to transfer over to Droid DVDP.  I *KNOW*, annoying and time consuming (and so far the only way I have found to do this - anyone else jump right in with suggestions!).  You can flag all and unflag the child profiles (probably easier).  It really comes down to however you want to do it.
Once you have your flags set, go to Collection>Flags>Save Set.  This will save everything  as it is TODAY.
Now when you add new items, after adding them, load the set you saved xyz.set from Collection>Flags>Flags>Load Set.  The new items you added should be at the bottom of the list, with flags unchecked. Set the flags and SAVE THE SET.

Now, leave the set loaded. Use the Droid DVDP plugin same as usual with one change: Use Export Only Flagged DVDs.

This should work.  It works on my phone. Like I said, worse part is setting it up.

Good Luck!

Thanks Dave for this tutorial,
but as I said: it's not a big issue and transferring the whole collection to my mobile device only takes some 5-10 minutes, so I think I will stay that way for the future too.

But thank you very much, anyway!

OK Tom.
To each his own. Until you can "close" child profiles into the parent, as you can in DVD Profiler, this works for me.  Especially for some of the TV series I own.

Food for thought:
Another way (if you have the fitting set-up): I only assign Collection-Number to Movies and TV-Seasons. Box-Sets and Disk-Level-Children don't get one.
So I simply filter on "Collectionnumber > 0" and get all the titles listed I want, hit Ctrl&A and off I go.

Dave,
I don't even know what "Child"-profiles are, I only have ONE profile that contains only DVD/BD-movies, no TV-series or the like.
I also don't know what "Disk-Level-Children" are, but I assume it is something like with the
"Star Wars - The Complete Saga"-BD where one collection number contains 8 sub-titles.

But anyway...
I'll stick with the "Complete Transfer", works fine for me and meanwhile I can get me a beer or make apee or whatsoever...
I don't want to appear "unthankful", since for other users your tutorial seems to make sense.
Therefore: many thanks again!
Kind regards,
Tom

Hi Paul
I just tried the skydrive. It worked fine. 3:32 PM EST USA (GMT -5). I was able to go right to the plugins, and when I clicked on the 0.4 version, it started to download.

As for Fileserve, you or I can contact Oliver and ask the question.  I'm not sure what's up there.

Let "us" know how you make out

Hello Guys,

I know there is a long time I didn't give news, but I was busy with other things.

I have now placed the files to download on sendspace (check my site to get the new urls).

I also have problem with my eclipse/android sdk installation, as I cannot run the app on my device from eclipse. The connection stops (adb connection error). I cleared the install, and re-installed from scratch, but the problem persists.

Before this problem, I was working on a 'genre filter' dialog, and had some problems with the scroll.

I hope I'll can fix my install very soon, and continue working on it.

Thank you.

Olivier.
