| Posted: | | | | Hello. For instances when, say, a visual effects supervisor is given credit before the company (and it's verified they work for the company), should we add a group divider for the company credit? I'm looking at a TV series right now and it lists two Visual Effects Supervisors and a little way down the screen it lists "VFX by The Senate Visual Effects Ltd". There are no other valid crew members listed below this company credit. I've verified with other profiles that these 2 vfx supervisors are associated with this company. Should a group divider be added for this company above these 2 vfx supervisors? Another reason I ask is in the case of big visual effects-driven movies. Often, the main Visual Effects Supervisor of the main VFX company is credited at the top of the credits by himself. The main VFX company isn't credited until deeper into the end credits, and sometimes no additional valid supervisors are listed under it. If there are additional visual effects companies each with its own supervisor, these small companies would get a company divider. But the main company (let's say it's a big one like ILM), would not? Doesn't seem very fair. | | | My DVD/Blu-ray Collection My Letterboxd Page |

Even though some of us may know that they are part of that company what you would have to be proved is that the person was acting as an agent of that company on that film. And not every voter is going to know how to vote.
IMO If this was to be allowed it would have to require a rule change and not forum posts in this forum (which are designed more for interpretation of the rules). Because the current rule that has us just create the dividers as the credits are on the screen conflicts. And it would be easy for someone to undo what you have done and still be within the rules. We should not create more rule conflicts than we already have. |
