Only two options this time, because the question is quite easy to answer (even though I somehow suspect that we will get a non-conclusive result).

Here is the question:
At the start-up of a disc you will quite often find Trailers for other movies. Usually those are not selectable via any menu, but play automatically. You can skip, or re-watch them as long as you didn't reach the end.

Are these Bonus Trailer for DVDProfiler puposes or not?
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

For my understanding Bonus Trailers are Trailers that can be choosen to play in the filmmenu or in the Extras (Programtips, Bonus Trailers).

Trailers that play automatically before the menu of the film appears do not count for me as Bonus Trailers. Am I wrong?

This has been brought up many times before... yes they are still bonus trailers. They are trailers on the disc... they count.

Nothing in the rules say they must be menu selectable.

Yes, any trailer for another movie, no matter where it is on the disc is classed as a Bonus Trailer.
(Unless it's hidden, therefore it would be an Easter Egg).

I think you need to make sure the trailers are actually on the disc.  Blurays with BD Live can down load trailers (or not) but they may not exist on the disc.  I wouldn't count those as Bonus Trailers.
Bad movie?  You're soaking in it!

Correct. And Ken stated in this thread that Bonus Trailers downloaded via BD-Live on a disc should only be entered as "BD-Live". It's easy to tell by simply blocking any internet connection and reloading the disc. If they don't play, then it was BD-Live content.

But when Trailers load after a disc is started, and are actually encoded on the disc, they are definitely entered as Bonus Trailers. They do not have to be menu selectable, nor do the rules state anywhere that they are required to be.

Just like "When is an audio track an audio track?": e.g. Japanese, not selectable via menu in certain regions -> nonexistent.

I have discs that don't even have a menu. I suppose they don't really contain anything worth profiling. No menu = No audio, no video, no movie.

Not nonexistent, but an Easter egg. Moreover, access through your remote's Audio button would suffice as well.
